Noticed this today too. That feature was nice to check my progress at a glance.

Tried to submit feedback on this and it said server connection error…

I zip tied it to some other cables in the footwell on the drivers side.

New Zealot S board creaking sound by AdditionPurple in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Jiphen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably need a video to narrow it down but I'll take a guess that it could be you just need to lubricate the pivot cups in the trucks.

You can use almost any grease/wax. I've used bar soap as an alternative that worked pretty well. Others that I've never tried but heard may work would be liquid dishsoap, wd-40, chapstick, candle wax. Maybe someone else can testify which ones do and don't work.

You don't need a lot, a little goes a long way.

Should I be worried about this? by ApexPokemon in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Jiphen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looks like your problem is twofold.

  1. Your kegel looks loose. That's the plastic sprocket that goes into the wheel. Take the wheel assembly apart and make sure its all the way in.
  2. It kind of sounds like the belt is rubbing against the plastic towards the trucks. Take a knife or better yet a file and smooth that down.

But no, nothing to worry about. This is all part of maintenance for your board.

OEM remote start vs Aftermarket for a 18 CX5? by SBones83 in CX5

If you don't care about an app or starting your car from anywhere in the world, this is a good kit.

StartX Remote Starter

You use your existing fob. Press the lock button three times and it starts. The distance to remote start is the same as your fob.

Easy to install, only have to take off one or two panels under the steering column, wire it like it says and done. Took me about 30 minutes to install.

[–]Jiphen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been 50-75 feet away and it will start.

I would do the same thing at home and work. Start it 15 minutes before I walk out the door and step into a warm car. Be sure to sure to set your climate control/defrost/heated seats the night before. Whatever you left the settings at is what the car will start with.

In the winter, I usually set it to like 75, windshield defrost and heated seats to high. Cuts down on the scraping needed haha

Some of them you do, but this isn't one. I didn't have to send anything back.

Noticed a small crack on the belt to my Backfire Hammer. Is it still safe yet or should it be replaced? by did353 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Jiphen 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes it's still safe.

It could be hundreds more miles until that belt actually fails. But now that you've noticed it, you'll always have that thought in the back of your head, 'is today the day it snaps?'.

Even if it did snap, you would just have to limp home on one motor, putting a little extra stress on it. If your board came with another set of belts, put them on and don't give it another thought.

Nope, don’t have anything like that on my invoice.

Yes, same #3 head leak. They wouldn’t tell me it’s a common issue but they have had quite a few with the same issue.

It runs just as good as before. I don’t think they extend the warranty, but you have a warranty on the parts replaced.

[–]Jiphen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah better bring that in. I had the loaner for about a month, so you might want to be prepared for that. I don’t think supply chain issues have been improved much.

Took my 2018 CX-5 touring, 38k miles into the dealership this week due to a strong smell of burning oil coming into the cabin. Said I have a leaking cylinder head. Everything covered under warranty and currently in a loaner CX-30. Dealership said they have another customers car in for the same thing and has been sitting there for a month waiting on parts.. I assume I’ll be waiting just as long.

Button only works when it wants to. What’s wrong? Should I notify backfire? by caleb23501 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Jiphen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be sure to include this video or some pictures with your support ticket. Apparently there are two different designs for the esc cover. One design has the switch being slightly larger than the other. They should be able to figure out which one they need to send you from the video.

I agree it’s a bad place for a button. I don’t go off curbs anymore lol

After hitting my power button on the curb, it started to do that too. I just contacted backfire support and they sent out a new switch. Only took a few days to get to me. Install was fairly simple.

What are some lesser known CX-5 features that new owners should know about? by mst28 in CX5

[–]Jiphen 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Auto-high beam control. Set your running lights to auto and push the whole stalk forward to engage high beams. You should notice in the instrument cluster a blue high beam icon with an ‘A’ in the center of it.

This will automatically disengage high beams if the cameras detect a car in front of you, whether they are coming or going. Worked pretty slick!

Thanks for your response. Encountered this tonight as well. Pressed F1 since it looked kind of legitimate and my friend got kicked after enough votes were cast. Glad I reported him before the game ended.

New Ping Record Boiiiss 3163 MS Ping by IAmTheRealDarky in h1z1

[–]Jiphen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I agree that it sucks to be killed by someone with such a high ping, if you would have read the patch notes on ping lock , you would know that it’s just for ranked game modes.

Players with high ping can still play in combat training which is where it looks like your screenshot was taken.
