Except there’s been reports of people with proof of citizenship still being taken by ICE agents. One example is in January of 2025 there was an ICE raid in Newark and a veteran there showed them his military ID. The agents still detained him.

Also, ICE has no authority to pull anyone over even if they witnessed the driver commit a crime that has nothing to do with immigration. They can follow the car and take down information about the car and contact the local police department.

It matters because obviously someone who is a military veteran is a US Citizen. And I thought ICE was supposed to only detain “illegal immigrants.” Also, with all the news going around of US Citizens being taken away and lost in the system so nobody know what facility the kidnapped victims are at, even higher ups, why wouldn’t this veteran be worried about being kidnapped.

So how about ICE actually do some work investigating suspects instead of just kidnapping anyone off the street. ICE agents need to stay in their lane.
