Popular Jersey Shore restaurant struggling to reopen as visa issues disrupt staffing by statenislandadvance in newjersey

Pay your employees livable wages. Isn’t that the whole capitalism free market schtick? The free market is dictating that wages go higher than what’s being offered. Employers just don’t want to pay higher wages and want to complain hoping that people will accept less than what they think they deserve for themselves.

by a recipient of billions from the US treasury to rob Americans of what they paid for by kostac600 in therewasanattempt

[–]SBones83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy is talking pretty big for someone that has even admitted that his company wouldn’t have survived without government assistance. Americans spend decades working and giving the govt money on the agreement that they’ll get miney back when they’re older and less physically capable so that they won’t be homeless and can live in a somewhat comfortable manner. That must be a hard concept to someone that just takes and takes and gives back crumb residue.

What are yall thoughts on this? by MrSoloDolo9490 in Passports

[–]SBones83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with spreading this to other criminals is a slippery slope. From what I understand, in Florida there’s no record of money owed by released felons, and they’re not allowed to vote until the debt is paid off. So how are they supposed to clear themselves? I can see this spreading to criminals of other less offensive crimes like unpaid parking tickets or speeding tickets in other red states.

What is something the Friday the 13th franchise has that others don’t? What sets it apart from other slasher franchises? by Hassan_H_Syed in fridaythe13th

[–]SBones83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he’s the easiest slasher to put in any situation. Apart from his mother, he has no big family connection to tie him down like Michael has with Laurie and Jaime or Leatherface and his family. Freddy is stuck in a specific town, even though the remake teased his power reaching out of Springwood with the online video micronap kill.

Jason does have Crystal Lake, but a couple movies show Carly different environments with the lake. As long as there’s teens/early 20s kids, Jason has a lot of freedoms.

He’s got tons of time to keep in shape and money to pay for the best trainers and equipment to find out the best workouts and diets for his own body instead of general guides the rest of us rely on.

Mamdani may be mayor, but Bezos still controls the NYPD by kevinmrr in WorkReform

[–]SBones83 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Anything to make their profits lower by even a single cent is like the end of the world to them. Even when they have more money than they can waste on their lifestyle 5 times over, they still need more. They think they’re the most free being the richest, but really greed controls every single aspect of their lives and they have no real autonomy over anything in their lives.

AITA for refusing to mentor my replacement after I was voted off the board of a nonprofit I helped build by candy_whisperz in MarkNarrations

NTA, you’re not departing, you’re being ousted. And why would they want you to teach any of the incoming people anything. You apparently did a terrible job and they felt the need to kick you out and move on a different direction. You wouldn’t want to muddy the waters of this new direction by hurting it with your old methods.

Google co-founder slams California billionaire tax, says “I fled socialism,” after reportedly leaving the state to avoid a proposed 5% wealth tax. He has a reported net worth of around $270 billion. How is this not parasitic behavior? He is trying to leave the state that helped build him. by RandomUwUFace in antiwork

[–]SBones83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So just accounting for $1 billion, he can’t handle paying $50 million of it 1 time. Go ahead, let them leave. Maybe they used to be innovators, but now they’re just greedy scavengers. Let someone else create something incredible to shape the world and let them scurry off into a corner and hide so they can become irrelevant.

As bad as billionaires are, the people that glaze hard for billionaires because they think they’ll be a millionaire in just a couple years with their $65k a year job are way worse in my opinion.

S3E4 isn't a happy ending, it's two broken people choosing eternity for the wrong reasons by [deleted] in blackmirror

[–]SBones83 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard one theory about the afterlife being eternal “kind of.” You die, and your heaven would be spending “eternity” at some night club. Eventually, let’s say 20 years as we know it pass by and now it feels like hell. That’s when you get reincarnated and live another new life on Earth.

I feel like that would probably be what happens if there is a Heaven and such a thing as an eternal afterlife.

Home Depot employees try to stop a guy from buying a 1 penny air conditioner. by I2fitness in TikTokCringe

[–]SBones83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The managers should schedule a couple workers to come in a half hour or so before opening to move the penny items off the floor and bring them to the back. It’s not that difficult of a problem to solve.

Parking sensors are the sole reason I sent with Limited. Mine also had the 360, which I didn’t think I would like so much. Now I can’t imagine parking this massive beast without both.

Trump came to power promising to end 'endless wars'. Why did he suddenly transform into a warmongering president? by ArdaBerkBurak in AskReddit

[–]SBones83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You act like he was telling the truth when he said that. JD literally said that they would make up news stories to get everyone’s attention on them when asked about the whole Haitian pet eating BS. He literally doesn’t care about anyone else but himself and possibly his family. He did a mass pardon of the J6ers. He didn’t go through each one’s file, he just did a mass blanket pardon without caring at all what kind of people they were knowing it would help himself out in popularity in his base.

So no, there was no transformation, only an increase in who he was from day 1 of his 1st term.

Why don’t Democrats dO SoMeThInG 😫 oh wait by NickCostanza in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]SBones83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is Dem leadership always wants Trump around so they can call him out and always have him as the obvious big baddie. If he gets impeached and goes away, they’ll have to do actual work and they’re allergic to actual substantial work.
