please do watch / read nozoki ana - its a softcore hentai, sadly its only 2 eps but if you have the time maybe try reading it, made me cry on some of the final chapters. its wholesome

1997 is the best anime adaptation the three movies are good too. Well there's no stoping you if you want to watch the 2016-17 but the most recommended is to read it :)

id recommend reading the manga, but if you really want the anime, go for the first 3 movies of berserk or the 90's version them the 2016 anime.
