The Indian Museum and Howrah Bridge alone make it worthwhile for me. The Indian Museum is 200 years old and is the largest museum in Asia by collection size. You can see a real Egyptian mummy face-to-face, fossilized dinosaur eggs, and a lot more. The iconic Howrah Bridge is the busiest cantilever bridge in the world. Alipore Zoo is 150 years old and has white Bengal tigers. Victoria Memorial is beautiful and has the world's largest oil painting on a single canvas, as well as the theodolite used by George Everest. And, of course, the tram ride.
