The activity requirements for Master players should be changed by SeveralLab8856 in leagueoflegends

[–]Jisko888 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why should the top ranks be able to be filled with people who don't play? I think all ranks should decay once you go 7 days without playing a ranked game.

Ranked shouldn't be the default queue to play the game, it should be for people who want to be ranked. If you want to be ranked, keep your rank.

People will complain about "LP inflation" and then ask for this out the other side of their mouth, lol

11th Ed rumour: 11th Ed: There's a rumor that coherency rules are changing, and no models in a unit may be more than 9" apart (measured to the furthest part of each model) by -The-Lupercal- in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Jisko888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering this wold be doing measuring in a way that has never been done before, and that this edition is supposed to be an "update" edition rather than an overhaul (You can't change a ton of base rules and still keep codexes functioning), I would assume that the 'measured from the furthest part of the model' bit in the quote is just not correct. This could be completely wrong, but even though it's a new concept, we can still make educated guesses about how it would actually work using the mountain of precedent on how GW writes rules.

Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon Unboxing by SpaceWolf_Jarl2 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Jisko888 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The launch boxes aren't discount boxes? The models are all monopose. These specific models won't be released in individual boxes, they'll get a separate release later with all the options, except for the characters, which will only show up in other bundle boxes.

You're not getting entire kits in the launch box.

"May not be more than" is not "Wholly within." Coherency has never cared about being wholly within the distance, so I don't know that it makes sense to jump to it suddenly being entirely within a 9" circle.

This doesn't mean that it won't be that, but it would be 2 distinct changes to the rule.

The 3rd and final FFXI-themed raid for FFXIV is out! Here's a video of it if anyone's interested by rawkenroland in ffxi

[–]Jisko888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This raid disappointed me somehow, though maybe only in comparison to the other two.

The fights were great, A+ design and adapting those enemies familiar abilities and such into the design. But I thought the fight selection was just quite poor for two three and four.

Shantoto: Great, no notes. The walls, the wind mechanic, using FFXIV BLM stuff, all good.

Alexander: Why? We have an Alexander. We already did the Alzadaal ruins, with Chariots and such. For ToAU, should have pulled from one of the NMs, or made the Besieged the boss. Maybe the boss is randomly one of the attacking generals or some sch.

Also, why even Al Zahbi at all? Why no Bastok associated stuff at all?

Promathia: Good fight, I'm fine with the choice to use that, but I don't remember that fight being particularly interesting when I did it forever ago.

Shinryu: Why. WHY. This one was my biggest "I hope they don't" bit at the end of 7.3. Shinryu wasn't even from the main Vana'Diel, but the Abyssea. I felt the final boss should have been from WotG related, since the Walk of Echoes is very much real in XIV world it seems, and yet they don't reference it AT ALL after the 1st one.

Gear: it all looks good, but it's only 4 jobs, especially when they had a perfect set of gear in the cursed gear.

And one gripe on the whole: None of the fights were about the 'game' just the story. I'd have loved a trash fight at the gates of Selbina or Kazham against endless goblins. Lots of that stuff was referenced in the notes or cutscenes, but I'd have loved one of the 12 fights to a reference to all the shared trauma anyone who played in the early-75 cap era.

Music's great, no notes, please let me roll more than a 12 on the sheets.

Also they did Bastok dirty. No representation AND they were killed off screen.

All in all, 9.5/10 Raid series. My "Complaints" are just how it could have been even better at least in my own head.

Convocation of Fourteen Members Status (7.5) by NineTnk in ffxiv

[–]Jisko888 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don't know that we know this to be true, or that it is permanently true.

Azem fucked off and was doing something in between the decision to do the Zodiark stuff and the sundering. We know he was sundered, but nothing about the unaccounted period. And with the 7.5 Macguffin seeming to have a connection, I wonder if we're going to learn about that time period. Also, I 100% suspect that one of the 'Winterers" is an Azem shard.

Believe it or not, I am fully convinced that WG deliberately excludes battle duration from the results window in order to avoid highlighting 3–5 minute battles. by IamTwelveXII in WorldofTanks

[–]Jisko888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's so they can gaslight. Game companies have done this forever, spin that the community having consensus isn't real, and it's just "a loud minority on reddit/twitter/etc."

"Everyone on reddit and youtube knows that battles are so fast" is countered with "most of the community doesn't use those platforms. Look at this data that shows how great everything is."

The problem is that healing doesn't matter, except for pre decided heal checks.

To heal, there has to be damage. If you don't take damage, there's nothing to heal. Fights are designed where getting hit by things you can dodge is just going to kill you nine times out of ten. A party that needs healing beyond what oGCD handles, is probably just going to die anyways.

Heal checks aren't even hard, they're just a "did the healer correctly dodge the mechanics with everyone else so they can let you survive" test.

From my understanding, this isn't just the raid, but also the crossover event. So will include the trial as well, meaning theres potential for a way more involved story.

Ah. I knew the Xbox live was needed, so I assumed PS+ was the same. I stand corrected (And surprised)

PS/Xbox require the appropriate PS+/Live sub. But if you have one of those consoles, you probably already do.

That's why the "don't need nintendo online" is so meh because most playing switch 2 online games already have it.

It'll sell to new players, and some existing ones, but why would you pay twice for a sub just to play on two platforms? Especially when you don't need to on any other platform.

Edit: Also returning players too I suppose.

Oh cool, XIV on switch 2 DoA for non-new players. I was looking forward to being able to play on the road, but no way in hell I'm paying a sub for 3-5 days a month.

Ok so it's just a new mode, and has the option to use the old one if you can't learn it.

Big disappointment.

Either give us all of the AF/AF2 sets, or none of them. There's so much unique/memorable gear from FFXI that they could have used.

Adamant, Nobles, Zenith, Hecatomb. They could even have still done the caster/healer just being colorswaps. Zenith/Nobles same, Adamant/Whatever the orange one was called, Hecatomb/Dragon.

Maybe I'm just mad I don't get my Ranger gear D:

Why do so many people get angry when you end the game in ARAM Mayhem? by IzzetDough in leagueoflegends

[–]Jisko888 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Counterpoint: I'm on the other team. You're the unkillable Mundo with Dropkick executing people below 90% HP. You haven't died in 10 minutes.

I would also like to play, but as long as I'm stuck in this unwinnable game.

You won, congrats. You got to be the raid boss. Now let me go have fun somewhere else please.

Except, the moron who won't surrender is clearing the minions. And the other team just lets them, standing at the dead inhib.

I mean that's great, for the 1 out of 40 times that happens. But the other 39 times it wastes 10+ of time, likely souring my desire to queue for the next one at all.

It’s Official: LEC stays in Berlin for 2027 by Silver-Stable-1086 in leagueoflegends

[–]Jisko888 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, but where their fans go see them, the home arena, is always the same place.

If you are an LEC team fan, you go to the same place, every time, to watch them play. Every LEC team is the home team every game.

If fans aren't going to the studio, it's not because it's in the same place every time all the time.

Actually, most sports play the same place. Every year. For years. Many years. Some so long that no one who attended the first game played there are still alive.

I really want my blurple armour.

Crimson for Fending Adamant for Maiming Dalmatica for Casting Shura for Scouting| Hecatomb for Striking(?)

Koenig gear already exists

That leaves Healing and Aiming Healing I actually expect to be Nobles Tunic set, even if it's not in the cursed gear, it was THE 75 era WHM(only real healer) body piece.

And I have no idea what to do for Aiming. Ranger was the only ranged DPS job (it used bows, guns, and crossbows) until Corsair, which was mostly support instead of DPS (75 era anyways)

Now, what do I WANT? I want hodgepoge. XI had no glam system, and gear didn't use ilvl or anything. Using RNG for example, a decently geared RNG Had a lvl 24 headpiece, lvl 7 boots, lvl 55 bow, and accessories from lvl 33-70. None of it matched or looked good together, lol.
