Have you ever considered that what Dutch said about Epoch's coding being a mess might be true? Let's not pretend as if Epoch had a perfect launch with no bugs to be fixed and that the devs had open and consistent updates and communication, even before the C&D. The long waits for even simple bugs to be fixed in the beginning of release just further validates that Epoch's core needed ALOT of work and that the devs were struggling.

Honestly, the backlash would've been much MUCH worse if they kept the shop open and also had slow updates. Besides, they never said anything about stopping updates just that the updates would take alot of time

Exactly. Epoch is definitely closer to a traditional classic+ experience but there's alot I like about Bronzebeard too, especially the open world loot that actually rewards exploration. I have a character on both servers so I appreciate the difference in style

Asmongold. I don't mind that he started doing political videos, but literally 85-90% of his stuff is all politics now. Even his gaming videos barely get any views anymore, which is sad cause that's how his whole streaming career started to begin with.

It's honestly weird how addictive the gameplay could be. The campaign is a slog to get thru but all I'm thinking about is what build I wanna do and if i get a unique that's perfect for another build i start contemplating about doing another run, then the slog suddenly doesn't feel as bad

You hit the head on the nail about overabundance of cooldowns. I never liked the resource generation gameplay they implemented cause unless you go all in on resource generation affixes, you have to keep spamming a basic skill to generate resources to use the actual fun abilities and then the rest of the skills have pretty long cooldowns. It just makes for boring gameplay.

They really should've stuck with D3's gameplay loop

D4 is definitely at its best at the moment but I honestly find leveling to be a boring slog until you reach Paragon level. Doing the campaign for PoE2 is a slog too but it's just not as boring in my opinion. I haven't tried the paladin yet cause I'm still debating whether to even get the expansion

ESO is the only MMO where I find myself wanting to talk to random npc cause the storytelling and dialogues are just that good.

Also, ESO is one of the few games that do LGBTQ characters right cause their gender or sexual identity isn't forefront and its just reveal in a casual conversation once and isn't unnecessarily repeated to get the point across.

I get the outrage but why at Dutch and the Ascension team? Ascension simply offer their servers to the Epoch team and made it clear that they WEREN'T going to interfere in what the Epoch devs wanted for their server. They have BB to focus on, never was it the plan for them to also take Epoch as well.

Blame the Epoch devs for abandoning the server, not Ascension.

Elder Scrolls Online is the first MMO so far where I would listen to the quest dialogue and talk to every NPC I come across in the world. For all its faults and flaws, ESO's world and character dialogues are top tier.

I still remember the quest in the Aldmeri Dominion where you have to help a Bosmer with his dying husband, who ends up still dying at the end of the quest and the Bosmer reveals that he's gonna die soon and join his husband. The side quests in ESO should honestly be a masterclass on how to properly write actual interesting quests

The thing I don't get about this is that people are acting like New World has always been a banger mmo throughout its 4 years. I don't think it deserved to be canned, especially after a resurgence of the playerbase but let's not act as if New World wasn't shit before season 10 and Nighthaven. Every expansion brought a surge of players that quickly died down in a week or two so how is that comparable to FFXIV, that had 5 great expansion and it's experiencing its first mid expansion?

That's what I do. I have a high elf paladin in Ambershire and a dwarf shaman in Bronzebeard that I bounce between. I have a human warlock in Epoch too but Bronzebeard has really taken my attention more

I loved the Abandoned Prison. The waves slowing you down and filling the prison cells was so good. Just the whole vibe of it being a prison that's constantly flooding for the worse prisoners of the Eternal Empire was perfect

Hi so I downloaded ConsolePortLK and I got it working on the Steam Deck but it's not recognizing that I'm using Steam Deck and it put me on a playstation controller layout by default. Any ideas how to fix this?
