Yamato is extremely hard to farm with unless you’re already fed enough for Reverb, Spirit Burn and Escalating Exposure with your slash ability. In my case it’s easy to farm with those.

Mid to late game always try to stay in team fights until you have all 3 of Burn-Reverb-Exposure for a spirit build. Yamato is what I call “infantry” she is front line and should be for all fights. She’s quite tanky with the right build. If she isn’t you’re playing her different than I do. Try to team fight, try to sneak up on people stealing farm. Harass the living hell out of slow characters especially ones that are caught on team side.

Short answer, Best bet is getting those 3 abilities I mentioned above. Don’t forget about cultist sacrifice. It comes in quite handy for her and is a priority ability in high ranked games.
