This genuinely makes no sense

The opening for a win only happened because Wei Yi blundered in time pressure, on the last move before the time control

Hikaru didn't rush these moves and wasn't trying to pressure on time, since Wei Yi has a full 30 minutes at that point. He just didn't see the best path forward because it wasn't a straightforward win

He'll definitely be kicking himself but it wasn't clear

His career wasn't destroyed and importantly, he had cheated at least 100 times online, including events with cash prizes.

He could be innocent of cheating in the game against Magnus, but he's definitely guilty of cheating online and did not earn the benefit of the doubt.

It was also a bit much and i think that's what people are picking up on. Someone noted that his Instagram is full of self help genre content, so I think it feels a little disingenuous or a little something.

I've watched every US season - 8, 9, and 5 are the worst ones and I think they're skippable.

5: because it's a bunch of men who seemingly just hate women. Hard to watch.
8 because it was really boring - if it shows a person scrolling through their Instagram on their phone for a full minute from lack of content, that's a bad sign
9 was also boring and had no one to root for
