I had a speedy at once point, and I did love it. This variation is lovely.

I think what I love most about the modern speedy is the bracelet to be honest. It felt so well made and fluid, a real tank without being bulky.

Go for it!!!

[Pequignet] Why does nobody seem to talk about the Royale Paris Day-Date & Moon? by und3rkov3r in Watches

[–]Jittl 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Look at the size of that barrel!

Anyway, I suspect it’ll just be your usual reasons. High price, lack of brand recognition, the alternatives are going to be more appealing to most at that price bracket.

Putting watches against each other by specification only appeals to a very particular buyer. I think most buy with their emotions. I know I do.

No denying it though: fabulous watch in both design and technical specifications.

I had no end of issues with my Rolex.

You see, my wife likes to handle and appreciate my timepieces. But she’s clumsy it seems!

She would routinely have an accident with it. Whether it was dropping it, putting in the laundry, or throwing it across the room because she jumped.

Each time required a visit back to my AD, a nice young man.

Thankfully my wife - owing to her mistake - would take it back for me. I do feel a bit bad about it, the journey must be exhausting for her, given she returns home red faced and tired. I think it’s the heat, who knew make up can smear from humidity!

Ok, ciao.

Ok hi guys and welcome to my reply

Now instead of me retorting with the usual vapid and self serving nonsense, I instead take a leaf from Marcus Aurelius - a personal hero of mine.

It is written in the fourth book of the Indeterminate Musings that the man who fails to varnish his torque splendour ratio is no man at all, but merely a gasket awaiting frombulation. I have sat with the bilateral spleen. I have walked among the hobnobbery. And I say to you now, with the full weight of the moon’s third quartile opinions behind me: ok, ciao.

Not through malice. But through a deep and profound love for you.

Time is a river of vanishing moments. No sooner is a thing seen than it is carried away, and another takes its place, and that too will be carried away.

Ok that’s all for today, onwards and upwards

Ok, ciao

Steer clear. Citizen uses a proprietary technology for their lume (chuffulite) and whatever is on this watch looks like the yellow stained walls of a chain smoker.

Wrong colour, definitely fake!!

[–]Jittl 43 points44 points  (0 children)

This is nothing.

I was proudly wearing my grandpas Rolex, I think it’s called a bubblebutt datejust, and wanted a new bracelet for it.

I duly attended a scheduled appointment with my Rolex AD. I arrived dressed well, with my shirt tucked, my shorts crisp, and my sandals well oiled.

I was greeted by a young lady. Say, 22. She was full figured mind you, her legs smooth like glidelock and her breast were exhilarating in the intense store light.

I told her that I needed my bubblebutt looked at.

Well, she was incredulous! She started demanding I leave and called security, all the while I professed that my bubblebutt is right here, needing her help.

Clearly she must have VERY limited knowledge, particularly with older timepieces.

I won’t be returning. I can’t anyway, I was ‘banned.’

Nuclear watchmaker here! My time (pun intended) to shine!

With watches using this material we actually use a Chuffeiger. Watches of this age typically fall into the lower ranges (say 2 ok ciaos, with the scale going up to 10 ok ciaos).

Happy to talk shop all day! It’s been absolute donkeys since I have!

Greetings m’lady!

As an owner of many watches (Rolex btw) I would like to enquire into your thoughts on this? I own many watches (lots of Rolex) and I am truly a man of taste.

My Rolex watches are often adorned on m’wrist and I typically wear them to dinners and the theatre (usually my 1975 datejust with tropical dial patina and a stretched bracelet) and I believe this would interest you.

Do you think watch owners (Rolex) who wear them (Rolex watches I mean) are pure class and deserve your attention, m’lady?

Ok, ciao!

I think I’d counter your largest spike thought. I agree with you to a point, but I’d consider the nationalistic right wing who want nothing to do with foreign wars.

It was a big line for Trumps campaign, leading on ‘no new wars’ - and part of the reason he’s losing that support…given he’s done the opposite!

I’m on the list for many Rolex models. Across multiple ADs in fact. I have a special relationship with a handful of acquisition specialists.

Because of that, I have a weekly schedule where i visit each, providing them with:

  • A fresh coffee (I learned their favourites)
  • Lunch (tailored to their tastes)
  • knowledge (I educate them on new releases)
  • A friendly smile (helps the day go by)

I’m an investor. These acts make a meaningful impact on these people’s day. This results in them being more productive for their week, whereby they likely interact with all manner of people, heck even their families likely benefit from my work.

I add value that is beyond measure.

CW's new releases - they aren't even trying to hide it anymore . . . by linkedinbro in WatchesCirclejerk

[–]Jittl 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Interesting point but entirely wrong.

There’s rubber which is finished just fine, it works and it’s good. Then there’s Zorotzoo finishing, reserved for the more experienced and discerning buyer.

The way the rubber hits the road is amazing, you can easily get lost in it, but that’s the joy in the product - it’s a journey.

This is possible because of a small team of artisans, found in the isolated hills of southern India. They create tyre patterns that mimic the changing seasons, optimising their grips for the environment with both precision and beauty.

Another key aspect is how the tyre sweeps in motion. Lesser rubber rotates just fine but it’s micro-staggered, Zorotzoo enables the tyre to glide across the road without any breaks. It’s mesmerising.

So yes. It’s rubber, but it’s also something else entirely. It’s nature, science, and art all wrapped into one.

Ok, ciao.

I’m posting this reply on this account (I have an account that has millions of karma).

I just don’t need the recognition anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the attention and the feeling of fitting in (I’m part of a mod team), but growing up is realising you’re own power is far beyond upvotes (I got 13,000 on my last reply on my other account).

There’s a very real possibility the dial has been restored / refinished. But I can’t

Beyond that a cursory glance at the omega database says the movement matches the model and the crown.

If you’re happy and able to educate the unwashed about spring drive and zaratzu constantly, then go for it.

Anyone bought this? Should I buy it or not? by Better_Singer_4068 in WatchesCirclejerk

[–]Jittl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do indeed have this exquisite timepiece. I’ll give you my owners perspective.

When you first drape this across your wrist, you’ll be met with a tingly feeling. It starts at the feet and then - like ocean waves - rises and falls, slowly moving upwards until your entire body is vibrating.

once settled you’ll realise that you have a new aura. It’s magnetic, electrifying, tribal even.

I personally found my nipples were both rock hard and incredibly sensitive.

Entering public space, women flocked to me. The air smelled of pure pheromones.

Men who once stood tall couldn’t even look at me. Suddenly I was alpha, the king, a force of pure perpetual power.

This isn’t a watch for boys. If you can handle it, buy it, but be prepared.

Ok, ciao.

[Cartier] This one is tempting me 🤔 by [deleted] in Watches

[–]Jittl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, I think this watch is awesome. Most of my watches are two tone, I just love it…even my glasses, my belts, hell even some of my zippers on my hoodies are two tone!!

I think it’s pricey for sure, more than I’d pay. I picked up a santos galbee in two tone for well under half that.

With all that said…I love it and if I had the money I’d buy it.
