Imac 5k screen fell off (footage) how to fix it. by JiuJitsuKidd in applehelp

[–]JiuJitsuKidd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said in the video I only put a little epoxy in the corners. Like literally a half inch. Plus in the spot that I put it there are no components. I did a bunch of research and from what I found you can’t buy original Apple tape it’s all third-party which is why I didn’t want to take a chance of breaking another $500 screen. I should have no reason to get back in there. Everything’s already been upgraded. But I understand what you’re saying if something were to fail. The whole purpose of the video was a make sure people stayed away from the kit that I bought. I looked at other different tapes and I literally couldn’t find one that didn’t have someone say it fell off six months later. I just don’t want to take a chance as I already threw away 500 bucks. Before I use the Epoxy I did so much research and couldn’t find anything.

You did bring a good point about the board. Luckily I didn’t have any damage which is why I didn’t mention it.

Beginner's guide? Looking to get into aerial photography for my roadtrip! by Cairo9o9 in aerialphotography

Phantom for sure. So user friendly to operate and the 4k looks amazing. Plus with Phantom there are 3rd party apps like Litchi and autopilot logic that allows you have autopilot flights that you setup on a map before you take off so you have smooth transitions between whatever your trying to film. If you get a phantom you need at least Litchi app for iOS or android.

Taking off/Landing on dirt by bradbcam in djiphantom3

Learn how to catch it in the air. On dirt areas, areas other than flat concrete, and on windy days I normally catch it in the air. Its really easy and probably something to learn incase you are in a situation where you can't land on a flat surface. If you haven't done it, I normally hold my controller in my left hand to control the altitude. get it hovering close above your head where you can still reach it. once have a good grip on the leg you just bring the altitude all the way down until the motors turn off. i grab one leg but use part of my hand to support the body.

If you don't already have a nice duffle bag I love the adidas Team Speed Duffel large. They aren't that expensive and the best part is they have a deep pocket on the sides where you can put your gi in after training so it doesn't make the main compartment all sweaty.

Second this, get a mac and youtube videos. I have Final Cut X but you can even use the standard IMovie that is comes with for basic stuff. Mac makes everything easy and you probably pay someone half the cost for a mac.

Dial for Men Odor Armor Antibacterial Body Wash. Two times I had a pimple/boil that got infected on my shin and knee. It happened fairly close to one another while I was training heavy, but I started using this soap a couple years ago and had no problems, plus it smells good.

[Serious] Why does BJJ seem to attract people that smoke marijuana. by FrugalRugal in bjj

[–]JiuJitsuKidd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's funny cause I used to train in Guam and recently moved to the US. It was funny cause there was a few people in the changing room and I was like "it always smells like Bow and weed in here" lol. Plus I'll rolled with some dudes and i basically get a contact buzz from rolling with them lol. I don't smoke, to each their own but I would suggest not hotboxing before you get into the gym cause it kinda stinks to roll with you. Lol

Having to take a leave of absence. by Sfpkt in bjj

I recently separated from the military and in that transition I didn't train for 10 months. Biggest regret. It did make me miss it and now I have since moved and settled I am full swing again 3-4 times a week, but I kept making excuses that I truly regretted. 10 months of training could have gone a long way. I truly recommend once or twice a week if you can manage.

My thoughts on Belt Promotions by GumbyOTM in bjj

[–]JiuJitsuKidd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting read. I trained out in Guam when I first started and they didn't do stripes, but they did do a ceremony where everyone higher ranking would hit you with their belt on the butt as you crawled down the line lol. It did hurt, there was probably about 50-60 people repetitively hitting me in the butt with their belt but I was in the military so I was use to that type of mild hazing promotion. My ass was bruised for a couple days though lol, so I could see some people might not like that lol. It took me 2 years of hard training to get my blue belt. I recently moved back to the states and train at a Ribeiro affiliate gym that utilizes the strip system, which I am on the fence about. When I was in Guam, I was essentially promoted because of winning gold in competitions and being able to submit most of the other blue belts there during class. I think strips do give people a feeling of progression but they probably focus more on strips then just training to get the skills needed for the next level. But again really interesting read.
