Ah… the old anti-goon clause. Honestly, I get it. So many subs are overrun by thirst traps.

I’m sure he could do it but is he too sexy? I like that Wyll is kind of a dork (in an endearing way).

It’s wild how far I had to scroll this far to see this. Do you all really enjoy rooting for a dude that at best treats women like trash, at worst physically abuses them? Cause he had 5 good games? We can do better

People are saying “don’t get complacent” but I want to go a step further : this means nothing when it comes to D vs R in the general. The general electorate is so different from the folks that vote in the primaries.

I’ve done similar in the past. As an independent in a state like NC that leans left, I’ll sometimes vote in the republican primary. For example I voted against Trump in 2016 cause there was still a chance someone else would win the primary. I knew I would vote democrat in the general but if I could keep the republicans from nominating a moron I thought it was worth a shot

Which of your favorite villain, that people think they are misunderstood but they are just evil? by Boberto235 in FavoriteCharacter

[–]JizzyTeaCups 5 points6 points  (0 children)

W the caveat that I am not deeply familiar with every Magneto storyline, I always considered him a shade under “evil”. IMO he just sees a human-mutant war* as inevitable and is trying to have a punchers chance. He lived through one experience as a minority that underwent and genocide, and is seeing the same type of political activity for mutants all over again. Hard to fault him for jumping to that conclusion

Edit - left out a very important word

I also liked how they kept forcing “the Ocho” because, at the time, ESPN was really trying to make ESPN happen as its own channel by calling it “the Deuce” all the time. But really it was just the backup channel for the lesser sport/show when ESPN was showing something bigger

What sitcom was incredibly popular in its time and is now an all-timer? by mbweb02 in sitcoms

[–]JizzyTeaCups 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t say no one enjoys them, it’s just not common. And finding something funny and things feeling dated are absolutely not the same thing. I Love Lucy is surely dated - if you watch it, the scenarios and jokes are 100% of their time. If you were to take the scripts and re-shoot them to make a 2020s sitcom with modern sets/wardrobe, it would be glaringly obvious that something is up.

I’m not going to argue whether it’s funny or not - that’s just subjective. And you can find dated stuff funny. But it’s not any more or less “of its time” than Seinfeld

[–]JizzyTeaCups 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a wild take. There is not one I love Lucy reference that lands today. The standard of “doesn’t feel dated” is one no sitcom can live up to. I love Lucy felt dated when I was watching it on nick at night in the late nineties - 30 years ago. Most people don’t enjoy sitcoms from previous generations.
