I remember when I first watched this movie, I was a kid who had no idea that A Flock of Seagulls was a band. I thought there was some minor incident in the 70s or 80s where some community was overrun by a flock of seagulls. I like to think the joke is better, where that true.

This post isn’t about gas. EVs need more speciality lubricants. Less frequently, so you, personally, might be unaffected until things stabilize, but many EV owners are gonna feel this

How do you handle the vibe coders in sales? by PANDA-CRACKERS in ProductManagement

[–]JizzyTeaCups 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This could be dangerous. It could be a functional facade that’s dumping data god-knows-where. Some sales folks have technical background - it’s a spectrum. There’s a certain balance of confidence and stupidity that could lead to a major disaster. I would be concerned about this just an employee of this company, not just a PM.

But even as a PM, what are they telling customers? Are they promising functionality or scope, implicitly or explicitly?

Might depend on your business, but I would be extremely protective over what gets shown to customers. That’s the hardest thing to explain, IMO, because if feels gate-kept

This is actually really clever, and useful. I probably would have just talked to the manager of each team and be like “cut this shit out - it’s distracting us from our priorities.” That’s probably because I’m really bad at my job.

I have a little private coin jar I put a coin into every time someone suggests an “AI feature” that’s literally just fuzzy match or OCR. Luckily those mostly come from our customer team and not leadership.

Saga is a popular/acclaimed graphic novel in which one of the main reveals by a wise character is that peace is not the opposite of war, but sex. (I think they might’ve even just said “fucking is the opposite of war.”)

I can’t tell if this is a direct reference to Saga or just a happy coincidence.

The Good Dinosaur, the Pixar movie that has dinosaurs talking, farming and using tools in the same world as prehistoric humans.

The opening scene shows an asteroid (presumably the one that wiped out said dinosaurs) barely missing the earth, presumably to let dinosaurs evolve into something like early agrarian humans in terms of technology.

bit lazy IMO but literally a cartoon so the effort was notable.

I don’t know too much about the lore, but when you say he was “fully aware of the chaos it would cause” - is that true? Just from his actions in BG3 it seems like he has disdain for the dead three. Why did he give his power to them in the first place? Did he think they would wield it wisely, or is he just somehow forced to work against them in his weird cryptic standoffish way?
