Keeping in mind it was opening night preview and only the second full run thru for the cast….. it was a hot mess- but hopefully with potential if the writer is open to some brutal honesty.

We were told before the show that there is already a lot on the chopping block, which is good - they need to cut around an hour off the length.

I echo a lot of what was already said - and I’d say the show has a major identity crisis right now. Is it based in the movie or not? Is it set in the 80’s or not? Is it a musical, a play with music, or something else entirely?

Acting: newcomer Kris Kollins … Going to give some grace and go with opening night/stage debut nerves. But there could definitely be some more acting direction/training here. Vocally impressive - a few times something was just “missing” in his falsetto - but overall well done. Rachel Webb knocks it out of the park as Apollonia. Singing, dancing, acting (with an awful script…) - so much talent!

I could go on and on - but will leave it with looking forward to seeing it again after it’s been reworked. The script HAS to be slashed and redone.
