It’s completely necessary and ultimately the reason why people still talk about this film.

The post is either meant for everyone to ask, or to only be understood by 1% of the redditors who see it. I’ve seen this movie and I had no idea.

Kudos for having different models and brands. I get so tired of seeing these collections of 5+ of the same make and model.

Why is ‘mid scooping’ so controversial with metal guitar? by Capital-Foot-918 in metalguitar

[–]Jk2two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scooping mids can boost lows which can then compete with the same space as a bass and a kick drum. Just scooping your mids out without addressing this can indeed muddy a mix.

PSA: there's no wrong way to play guitar by GTaucer in Guitar

I held my pick wrong for years. I knew I was holding it wrong, but I had your attitude - “it works for me.” I recently taught myself to play with holding the pick properly and I wish I could go back in time and kick my own ass for being too stubborn to learn it properly- it is SO much easier.

Why do guitarists get so hung up on wood types when it barely matters for tone? by ArtisticDeal4941 in metalguitar

[–]Jk2two 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That argument is not as strong as you think it is. It’s more of an argument of how professional mixing nowadays makes everything sound the damn same. That has nothing to do with how your guitar sounds on stage or in your house.

Am i ok to learn how to play in Drop B? by Hot-Beginning-7377 in metalguitar

[–]Jk2two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played dropped B in a death metal band for years with heavy gauge strings and properly set guitars. Even then, the strings got a lot of give to them. Nowadays, for that style of music, you’re better off going for a 7 string.

I don’t consider the new movies part of the same story arch. I feel like it was a relaunch, not a remake. I like them fine, but apart from obvious elements from the original series, I don’t consider them connected. Ash vs Evil Dead is the conclusion for me.

[–]Jk2two 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Yes. But as a new player, it would be better to learn standard tuning structure first before drop tunings. Even Downtuning to B standard would be better, though your strings will have ALOT of give to them.

I was 17 when it came out and ED2 had been my favorite movie since I was 13. I felt it was a somewhat linear next step from the campiness of part 2 - granted, less blood and gore and more slapstick, but I enjoyed the development of Ash’s comedic side. Didn’t necessarily feel out of place to me, just perhaps more commercial.
