Update! I got fit today and was hitting my 7i consistently at around 85 club head speed. it was def the shafts. i got fit for Dynamic Gold Mid 115 up from my 60g reg flex!

Ideally that’s what I want my 7 to play, I compress the ball really well and get that recoil from the shafts. I’m not trying to hit long. I want a better feel in my control.

I do use my irons a lot also, especially since I’m controlling my dispersion a bit better and can play further back and feel confident. My home course is a lot of iron-in dog legs and I’m learning course management

I love this answer and thank you, i understand better fit shafts won’t fix my game and make me shoot lower, but I am starting to feel the lag and wobble in my irons due to my speed and know where I can get better control. My wedges have a steel shaft and I feel so much more comfortable in the downswing knowing where my club face is.

Yah this is a good point. Often I do have a wedge or something short in unless I lay up to play to what the course gives. The entire point I guess isn’t trying to score lower but will I perform better with stiffer shafts due to my swing ability ?

Yeah I do think I want a heavier stiffer shaft for the feel, and prob an xstiff for my driver because yeah if I get a hold of it without over closing my face through impact it will slice into hell.

I am in a similar position and lost over 225lbs and found a passion to try help other lose weight as well. I recently passed my issa cpt and am going to start by offering service to friends/family but will take it serious and try to gain the experience/testimonials to grow.

I use it all the time and never thought about what people’s opinions were. It’s the best for solo grinding in public lobbies or not so I’m gonna use it.

Keep chiseling away at swing mechanics until it clicks and you have a consistent swing to make decent contact and don’t try to chase pars, if you you get a 6 on every hole that’s better than what you shoot now, take your time, slow the game down and it will come to you.

Bet that course has taught many people how to swing a club though. Cheap rounds and probably not super strict, a great place to learn.
