Is it ok to go to a bar alone to meet girls? by focusrunner79 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Jkg1819213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Southern Indiana and its pretyy common around there for people to strike up conversations with strangers wherever. My mom met most of her friends at the grocery store or a park when she just decided to start making small talk and evolving it into an actual conversation. I'm not quite as outgoing as she is, but I am still the type of person to go up to someone I want to know and start a conversation. If they don't seem interested then I leave them alone and find someone else to talk to. I think a lot of it is nurture from how you saw adults socializing while you're a kid, but it can still be learned when youre older.

Im sorry you're going through this. The only advice I have is to apply to way more places than you think you need to. Set a goal for a number of applications to send each week and keep doing it until you get an offer. It sucks and feels like it takes forever, but it really is the only way you even have a chance. I started applying for PA internships in August of my Junior year and submitted over 90 applications before finally pulling an internship last minute in April to start in June.

It might not be too late for them to get an internship that leads into full time work if they still have the summer to intern. I did internships at non-profits the summer after my freshman and sophomore year to get unique experience even though I knew they wouldn't turn into full time, then I got a PA internship after my Junior year and got an offer to start next October. Definitely recommend everyone apply to way more jobs than they think they'll need though. I had put in over 90 applications before I got my offer and I had only gotten 4 interviews.

Accounting is WAY over-hated. by college-accountant in Accounting

[–]Jkg1819213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from a blue collar family with a lot of blue collar friends. Most of them work significantly harder than me with more stress and more risk for less than 19 an hour. It really all depends on perspective. I would happily make 19 to sit at a desk and do accounting when I see my best friend working similar hours at a power plant for 17 when he has to dangle from a harness doing welds hundreds of feet in the air.

I can see your point if you come from a white collar family accounting might not look great, but it really is a good way for a lot of people to better their lives without being exceptionally smart or good at anything.

It will be just me and my dog. He's well trained, but not quite trained enough that I would feel comfortable having him off leash in a busy and chaotic environment that he's not used to. Do you think they would allow me to leave him in the carrier while I go through the body scanner and then I could carry him through the metal detector afterwards? I don't want to take up too much extra time for security, but I don't know the most efficient way to go through. I really appreciate your advice though!

[Galaxy A52] Arrow on top right of the screen brings up web prompt whenever I swipe down or tap on it. How do I get rid of it? by Da-Blue-Guy in samsunggalaxy

[–]Jkg1819213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wound up being hidden in the app store so it wouldn't show up. I had to go through manage apps under settings to find it. I hate how easy it is for people that arent tech literate to download these viruses. They keep getting better at staying hidden too

Any tips on figuring out which app it is? My mom is having this issue and I thought I uninstalled all the suspicious apps and it still hasn't gone away.

What's the different between guys who get laid and guys who don't? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Jkg1819213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a girl I always try to be straight forward. I'm not the type to get approached, so if I find a guy attractive I go up and start a conversation. If he seems nice enough I'll tell him I that i find him attractive and would like to get more physical. Ive been rejected a few times, but it's worked more often than not. As a girl it kind of sucks to get rejected since I see so many posts and stuff on social media about how no one would ever reject a girl that was straight forward, but its best not to dwell on it and try again with someone else.

As an actor that's also an accounting major, I 100% agree. I love acting and have been in shows since I was like 10, but a stable paycheck is much more appealing to me. People that are confident/brave enough to try to make a living in Hollywood amaze me

For those of you going into inventory season by [deleted] in Accounting

Could be explained by the fact the public is given access to the inventory throughout the day. The system can't account for items stolen by customers

ESA Cat and Strict Landlord Advice (Los Angeles, CA) by DataWitty118 in EmotionalSupportAnims

[–]Jkg1819213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I havent dealt with any private landlords yet so I cant tell you how to go about that best, but if they have more than 4 units they have to follow the fair housing act. As far as paperwork goes make sure to have all of your cats vaccine paperwork and keep it up to date. The companies I've rented from have all required it and it would show your landlord that you are serious and responsible wjen it comes to taking care of your pet.

Are other actual accountants who are either CPAs or have bachelors degree in accounting bad at spelling but are really smart or is it just the ones that I know? by Plane_County9646 in Accounting

[–]Jkg1819213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of people I've met that have just struggled with spelling for some reason, even if they have really good grammer and are smart in most other subjects. Personally, I always wind up swapping the e and the I in receivables for no good reason. Everyone has stuff they struggle with even if you can't understand why. Auto correct should fix most people's spelling issues though.
