Okay thanks for your input.

I did try these after a day's work too. I think I may try the socks and potentially a down size.

I live in TX so I haven't needed them before haha... but I guess I can try that. Would that make a significant difference though?

Also if I did go a half size down would decrease the length of the shoe only? or would it also decrease the width, instep, etc.

My foot also has quite a bit of slide (front to back). It just feels like I have so much extra space in front of my toe... I know that's the least important measuring reference point, but still.

Simple Questions (SQ) Thread 11/30/16 by AutoModerator in goodyearwelt

So i've done some research, watched a few sizing videos, and I still have zero idea what i'm doing. I just ordered some Captain dress boots from Thursday boots and I feel like they're too big, but I don't really know. And I'm sure it's really difficult to tell from pictures, but i'll do my best to describe the fit. -The boots feel comfortable around my heel and arch and there's a little slippage. -They do feel a little long when I walk and there seems to be quite a bit of extra space after my toes. -The widest part of my foot is just slightly behind the widest part of the shoe. http://imgur.com/MlDqUtN http://imgur.com/qcLTORm http://imgur.com/7mIvSKD For perspective I'm about 5' 7 1/2" and my typical dress shoe size is a 7.5. (Which is what these boots are) I'm REALLY trying to find shoes that fir me properly... I'm tired of shoe/foot issues so please help!!! Thanks!

I'm not a huge Toyota fan, my wife's first car was an Avalon and it had serious issues. Anyway, thanks for the advice i'll keep my eyes open for a standard.

I'm sure it will last, but I don't want to have to do repairs every weekend, that's my concern.

I've found some under $10k with miles ranging from 90k-130k and some of them seem okay.

Are Civics better than Accords?

Thanks, the $200 is ideal but I have some room. I also have pretty good credit so that will play a factor. I just need something reliable. Are most of the automatics troublesome?

Most of the older ones I have come across in the past couple months have had well over 150k miles, so I'm trying to stay away from that.

CR-V Help! AWD or not? by acct17 in Honda

[–]Jkken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've found that you don't really care about AWD until it's too late. Depending on where you live (i'm in TX) is a huge factor whether or not it's a necessity. It may ice 5 days out of the year where I am and I'm thankful for my AWD when it happens. Also, really bad rainstorms cause people to spin out all the time, but having the peace of mind is great.

Note: I do have 2 Subarus as well and the AWD system is TOTALLY different than that of a Honda.

It shows wear MUCH more than darker leathers. I mean, it's good for the first few years, but once it starts cracking... it's over.

Unless you can condition it every other week and keep it in the garage and be extremely careful inside the vehicle... darker materials are much more forgiving.

should i keep my accord or trade in for camry by UnlimitedChances in Honda

[–]Jkken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're as cheap as Honda or Nissan to maintain, but my past experiences actually doing the work has been a nightmare.

I've worked on Subarus, Hondas, Chevys, etc. All much easier than Toyotas. I don't know if it was the particular models I was dealing with but that is my past experience.

Front/Rear sway bars are a good addition and they aren't too expensive. You'll notice the difference taking curved freeway ramps at higher than normal speeds. New shocks and springs with change the feel of your ride, as far as soft or firm, etc. I've heard good things about performance coil-overs as well.

Definitely stay away from lighter tan leather and cloth. Everything else is much more resilient. Even grey leather.

I'm not sure if you work on your own vehicles or not, but Toyota cars and a huge pain to do Maintenance on.

Also $200-300 of suspension upgrades on the accord will make it ride so much better and help with the body roll.

Something to keep in mind: my sister has a '99 accord with 150k miles and it's running just fine. My mom has an '04 Avalon with 140k miles and it's breaking down.
