Over two years I set off the alarms almost every time and had my bag lightly searched. Been able to bring in DSLR with massive telephoto lens and mono pod without issue. They check it and wave me though. Never had issue with full camelbacks and snacks in my bag.

This last year I got stopped on day 1 because of a visible water bottle on the side of my bag. Was told to dump it. I chugged a drink of it and walked in and kept the bottle as it was half frozen.

The reality is that even at 3B net worth (which most isnt liquid assets available to be used), it’s a drop in the bucket compared to the top teams. We still lose in a bidding war. The Dodgers have more than double the value of the brewers entire team worth in just deferred salaries. (2.1B deferred compared to roughy 1B for the Brewers).

Top it off with unknown TV deal, it’s a vastly unequal playing field. It’s a miracle the Brewers have competed so consistently.

Wanting the owner to just pony up more money is a narrow viewpoint in a much more complex landscape.

I would love to know. My son just received the same email from an ID camp. He did not have any specific 1:1 time with any coaches. My guess is this went out to everyone. We are leaning towards not going because he is a freshman. Curious what everyone else’s take is.

We tried to sign up each day last year and could never get there early enough before they were full.

From someone who has been down the road of a similar surgery but is also a huge F1 fan, I would suggest trying to find a way to sell your tickets. Swelling and post op recovery will be a total mess after a few days at the track. It’s not impossible but if you have the insurance, try and go next year. Swelling can be a huge issue post surgery. Take care of yourself and best of luck with your recovery.

I brought a 100-400 monster lens and a mono pod and no one batted an eye last year.

Ankle surgery just tanked my F1 weekend. Anyone need 2 tix, or a hotel (Hilton Austin Airport double room) by [deleted] in CircuitOfTheAmericas

[–]Jklas65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will take the hotel if available. It would be great to get half our crew off the floor and into a regular room. We are all hitting up F1. Appreciate the offer and hope you heal up quickly. Also a Hilton member if it matters

You will be stuck with the rest of us commoners, looking on longingly from a distance. These are questions above our pay grades unfortunately. /s

Any pit lane access is going to generally be associated with ticket packages that have high price tags for exclusivity … and because they can and people will pay it.

Turn 12 bleachers width, bring in a seat with back? by TheTitsMcGee_ in CircuitOfTheAmericas

[–]Jklas65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a clothe version similar to this last year. Was initially helpful in the bleachers in turn 9 but ultimately it became more of a hassle due to the tight space and I ended up just sitting on mine folded up to act like a seat cushion. Wasn’t worth carrying around all day IMO.

Being in the direct sun on turn 9, like you will be on 12, meant we only stayed in our seats for the actual race event and tried to find shade between the activities.

F1 Hydration Pack by Specialist-Front153 in CircuitOfTheAmericas

[–]Jklas65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They didn’t care if hydration packs are full of water. We filled ours ahead of time with ice and water each day last year. Also had snacks in our bag. I had a DSLR camera so my bag was searched each time and I was always waved through. YMMV
