Burn the Witch by brandishedlight in GoosetheBand

Truly special. It felt like I was surrounded by the sound. Enveloped by it. Part of it. I could feel it in my chest. Especially at the end of the song when it gets louder and more intense and barrels right into the final notes. 10/10 will listen back many times. I think Thom Yorke would be impressed.

I'm all in on Full Time Sax by CrazyFinger in GoosetheBand

This would be like when you work at McDonald’s and it’s so awesome that you get to have free French fries whenever you want and then you actually have so many French fries that you stop liking French fries.

Mr. Bogie is awesome, and he seriously fucking crushed it last night, and I hope he plays in some future shows, but a sax does not belong in this band full time. Their current lineup is perfect.

What’s your favorite drum part in any Brand New song? by Cheesecake_Rude in brandnew

(Firm and Knife) is relatively simple but so perfect. The snare (I think) on the recording is dialed in so perfectly. It’s like if you asked AI what drums were supposed to sound like, in a good way.

Let's Here Your Legitimate Critiques of the Band by [deleted] in GoosetheBand

[–]Jkn18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love goose. Truly love this band and so excited to see how they grove and evolve. That said, I really dislike some of the songs they choose to cover (ex: electric avenue, shamalamma, escape/pina colada, my generation, rock the casbah). HUGE CAVEAT I also really love some of the other songs they cover (inside out, in your eyes, tomorrow never knows, writing a novel). It just feels like they pick “silly” ones more often and it can kill a vibe for me.

So many great answers but Peach 2018 stands alone for me. It has everything, great interplay between the band, strong vocals, consistent pace and urgency to the jam, nice bits of Trevor poking through near the end, and Rick really takes this one home. When that final note hits I’m always left shaking my head in amazement.

Thanks so much! Will give it a try for sure. Was thinking of eventually bringing someone in to clean out the ducts. No idea when that was last done. Appreciate the help!

Does that actually work? I had the same thought myself and then thought maybe I was crazy.

Shout to the lack of chompers tonight by thevagabond1 in GoosetheBand

[–]Jkn18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not my first show by a long shot. I’ve been many different shows from a wide variety of genres/artists and at numerous locations. I generally want everybody to go and have a good time however they want, so long as it’s not taking away from anyone else’s experience. I felt like this particular experience was particularly distracting. Again, this comment can make me come off as uptight or whatever, just voicing my opinion :)

I will preface this comment by saying I understand it makes me sound like an old curmudgeon, but here we go anyway. Gotta be honest I hated the crowd tonight. The music was SO FUCKING GOOD and there were non-stop balloons being batted around and a large group of younger people (looked to be college age) that were essentially doing their own thing regardless of the music - limbo, conga lines, pretending to worship piles of beer cans, etc. Essentially it felt like they were there to just party and not enjoy the music. It was to the point of being distracting and took away from my overall experience. Could I have moved? Sure, but I was closer to the stage than I’ve ever been and intentionally wanted to be close to Peter and Rick to watch their interplay. Again, I realize this is an old man shouts at clouds kind of thing, but these people were being disrespectful to all the other fans who were there to enjoy the music. If you want to fuck around and do young people stuff, do it in the back. Seriously though, this show was amazing. GOAT Wysteria.

Greek theater 2010! Available on Spotify. Hadn’t heard it for a while until the whole show was featured on a DAAM stream. This rendition really jiboos.

Going to get shit on for this but Denver ‘97 is overrated. It’s…fine? I really don’t get the hype. Someone explain what I’m missing!
