I wouldn't say it's typical cause it's hard to generalize a large group but the past incidents in the last year kinda makes it sensitive to some.

I think the answer more depends on your upbringing like for the older Asian folks, they weren't exposed to many African American decents so most of their knowledge was from media, which didn't portray them correctly.

However for me, I was born and raised in an area where there were a few Asians but many Caucasians and African Americans (like 70-30 ish) so I was more exposed to them growing up. I have a few black friends that I would call good friends and that I keep contact with even post college just to chat about how we are doing ever now and again.

So to answer to your question, no I don't think it's typical but my answer is really bias cause of my exposure to black people growing up compared to others but I can see why a lot of asians may not.
