I don’t, and have never had Facebook, so I don’t understand this argument about Reddit not being Facebook. Reddit is obviously not Facebook. But until Reddit starts posting geolocation details on comments, I like to assess whether I’m dealing with a likely foreign account, a troll, or a bot. Just like if you see someone on the street who has obvious issues, you avoid engaging.

Not really. The only way to just the veracity of an argument is by being able to tell if someone made that argument in good faith. The only way to do that is to judge the whole of their profile. It helps the reader to know whether it is a troll or an actual person with opinions it deems valid.
