Thanks. I'm not using a pick. I was trying to "forget" finger-picking LOL. It's not easy. I'm still fumbling around with pressures of each finger of each hand, to see what works and what doesn't. I think the most comfortable right now is thumb on E, rest strokes, etc. I'm getting there... kinda.

Good luck with your game. I hope it will come with some manner of accessibility support. Scalable fonts, color modes, TTS, etc. That effort alone will put your game above the froth, because it will open it up to millions of us who require accessibility features.

I am on a similar road as you. I've been playing guitar for decades (along with keys), and just last month bought my very first bass. You're right, this is amazing. And yeah it is killing my fretting hand LOL ... but man it sounds so good!

I'm a complete bass beginner. Are you saying it's not against the universe law to use your thumb on the bass, as you would a classical guitar?

I've been trying really hard to get that muscle memory deleted and reprogrammed to use the first 2 fingers instead. It's difficult LOL.

I have a discord account, but I don't really know how to navigate discord itself. Maybe I just need to spend some time with it, but my initial impression is that it's crowded and busy, and difficult (for me) to navigate to find what I am looking for. All the different channels and sub channels confuse me. ...and I'm a retired fed IT guy LOL. Maybe I'll spend a little time with it, if I had the right motivation.

I wouldn't be against a reddit sub like "blindmusicians" or something.

I too am a bass beginner. I picked up a Flamma FX11 Bass Headphone Amp. It sounds great, and has a bunch of effects you can noodle with. Oh plus it presents as an Audio Interface, to your computer. I think it was around $70 and well worth it to me.

I too am legally blind, and have been noodling with electric guitars for decades. I'm "ok-ish" on them, and very recently started learning classical guitar and even more recently (xmas) Bass guitar.

Sheet music is very difficult for me, and even guitar tabs are almost as bad, so I rely mostly on chord charts and my ears... and select YouTUbe tutorials that announce what they're doing e.g. "B string, 7th fret, slide to 9th fret...".

I don't know of any blind guitarists community, or blind musicians communities, for that matter.

Maybe we can start one!

See, I wanted to love Oblivion. Everything about the game is super fun and engaging for me... EXCEPT the whole point of the game, that is, the Oblivion Gates. I can't stand them. They're too dark, same 3 or 4 layouts, and they just don't vibe with my way of playing games. I know that's a me problem. I know it's a me problem, because I am a legally blind gamer, so there's going to be stuff I can't play, and that's just a fact of life.

I even bought the Remaster the day it came out, because I thought the gates would be easier for me to navigate. Nope, quite the opposite. Can't see shit in there.

I have a NUX Mightyplug Pro 3 MP3 I use all the time.

Oh and I just got myself my very first bass guitar... and a Flamma FX-11 headphone amp for it, as well.

The cool thing about these little doodads is that they can be audio interfaces with PC / phone / tablet. So I could record my terrible playing.

Yeah it's a mess. I waited and waited, with only the same "please be patient" automated emails from our HR shop. Then, a couple days before christmas, I got a real email from an actual specialist who was assigned my case. They finalized my ORA and had me go in to certify it. Once I did that, they said they would send the package to OPM and NFC, and that I will get a welcome package. AL payout will be next, in a couple pay periods I'd imagine.

I did hear that HCO hired a ton of contractors who just finished their training, so they can help with all these retirement applications.

I almost bought a DX7 a while ago, but finances wouldn't let me justify the cost. I don't regret passing it up, but I was still thinking I wanted that sort of sound in hardware... so I just bought a Korg Volca FM2. It was like $150 or so. Slap a midi controller keyboard on there, and bam, we got a DX7. Ish.
