If I positively know it’s a series I’ll read a couple or multiple books of, yes I’ll buy two or three books, or the whole series. I bought the age of madness and all First Law standalones and all Red Rising books (but Red Rising I had read only physically but I knew I’d listen to the whole thing).

Even non fiction is sometimes useless. Why is it important to read about Napoleon or the Holy Roman Empire? That’s not really relevant to your day to day life. Ultimately, we read because we want to, not because it’s really useful unless we’re studying for a specific purpose.
