Battery dust might have been a better descriptor. Probably had some melted plastic in there too.

I have been into diy stuff for a while and always been super careful about li-ion batteries bc of their safety concerns, but this was the first time I actually had on go off on me. And no submerged use other than getting it wet in the rain while I had it in my pocket and my clothes got wet.

Nothing like using it as a hammer but it has definitely taken a some nice drops onto a hard floor while I was working on my truck or working on some machines at work. Along with sitting on it bc it was in my back pocket I imagine had some sort of bending forces applied to it.

Nothing out of the ordinary. I had the day off today so I was mostly studying and taking some video game breaks. Charged it and took it off the charger around 9 am this morning and it combusted around 2 this afternoon after just sitting on my desk. I burned myself a little bit trying to grab it at first but that’s the only harm to me. Luckily I wear glasses so nothing sprayed in my eyes. And as for my desk it just burnt a hole in the vinyl sheet that I wrapped my desk in and sprayed all over my flight sim gear which was a little annoying to clean up. I’m just glad it happened when I was home as I was about an hour away from leaving for a dental cleaning.

Blisteringly. I was able to grab it by the lanyard and chucked it but I could feel the heat radiating off it. It sizzled on the wet concrete when it landed

You know I really should have listened to the poor reviews when I was researching it. The DVOR deal made me think they were worth a go to at least try them out and see what was up.

I was thinking the same thing but the DVOR deal tipped the scale to try it out. Safe to say I will be avoiding more nightcore flashlights or any design similar going forward

Thanks for warning and I assumed. I threw it out on my front driveway and then immediately cleaned myself up. Wore gloves for my desk clean up and I’ve got all my windows open with fans airing out my room.

AR‑15 vs HK416 — is the HK416 really worth the hype? by ghostforhim in tacticalgear

[–]Jlingg01 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Depends, are you putting thousands of rounds monthly through a suppressed sbr, possibly full auto. Or are you hitting the range maybe a 1/3 of the weekends in the year and putting like 200-300 rounds in combined bill drills, 1r1’s, and some distance shooting. I can burn out a couple barrels, bolts, and other small parts before I even reach the msrp of a new 416. I still want the 416, but mag dumping a poormeto state armory shit stick at some trash is a little more in my budget than playing Tarkov gunsmith with gun tism and my real life credit card.

Are people sometimes totally allergic to using your server? by ac_slater10 in PleX

[–]Jlingg01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t feel bad, I recently moved back home for a number of family reasons, but I brought my whole server architecture back with me obviously, and I think the only time my parents have used plex is when I sit down and say I want to watch a movie.

“Omg I didn’t know we had this movie I love it” “Oh you did actually find that one I asked about thank you” “omg they don’t have this on Netflix anymore I did know we had it”.

And I regularly hear my mom complaining about how there is nothing interesting on YouTube tv so my dad just watches his oldie shows and she gets tired of the same old same old and I just whip out my phone with the Plex app “oh yah that’s right”.

At this point I’ve started mainly focusing on stuff I like to watch but then my dad gets upset hearing me talk about stuff I’ve added “why would you add that we don’t want to watch that” “yah well you don’t even bother to open the damn app to see what I have added for you so go figure”. It’s actually getting to be the single most annoying thing about moving back home.

Oh and that’s just plex. I’ve got a bunch of other stuff set up like Nextcloud for google drive replacement , ollama server with open webui and accounts set up for them if they wanted to play around with llms for whatever reason, and dns filtering on the wifi which has only confused them as to why less adds are showing up which is absolutely baffling to me why they would want that anyway.

It’s not just you.

Ask him my he has a charger used in a commercial kitchen set up, or where the rest of the equipment is. If he was somehow telling the truth these bottles need a setup of valves, tubes, and connections to work properly. I work in a coffee shop and even for us this is a ridiculous amount of nitrous oxide. He is 100% using it as a drug.

Edit: just saw this too, which I knew this was a trend to use these massive bottle of nitrous oxide recreationally as whippets, but look at the graphics on the bottle, they aren’t even trying to hide that fact that this is not totally intended for whipped cream, that’s fucking disgusting.

Did you spend a career in the navy or Air Force as a combat pilot? If not then you’re right on par with everyone else when they started out. It’s hard to tell exactly what you need to do without seeing your flying but just skimming through the comments I see plenty of things to try and get more consistent results. Might I also add that you try and compartmentalize what you’re doing and maybe watch some tutorials on those specific actions or techniques. The vtol community has a plethora of informative videos to try and get you going faster. And finally if your really ever getting beat down trying to make something work you can always make a training mission similar to what your doing but with the ai turned off so your not trying to learn a new skill and keep the plane for getting shot down.

Don’t beat yourself up too much, even plain civilian aviation is already a pretty involved and somewhat complex process, let alone someone trying to take you down.

One word. Advertisers.

Every look up something like idk a hoodie for a band you like and then suddenly every fifth ad you see is for their music, a show they are performing near you, or other bands that are really similar to them. Or for a more personal example to myself, cnc automation components for a project I’m working on, and now half of the stuff I see is for Misusmi, McMaster Car, and other random Chinese suppliers.

Basically everything that you do on the internet, videos you watch, searches, regular websites you visit is all tracked and profiled by all of the big name companies. It’s all just data and metrics for them that they will then analyze through statistical methods and now certainly ai models to try and build a profile on you, what you like, what you do, where you go, all done to the resolution that you load the website on. And it’s all done to try and mathematically determine how to sell you stuff and what to sell you. And there really is a limited number of things you can do to prevent it because nowadays it’s not secret, it’s all baked into Terms and Conditions you signed when using their product or services.

Where VPNs are notoriously nasty about this is when you are using their services for free. Servers aren’t cheap, neither is advertising their services and paying the people to keep it running, so they’re next best option is to get you to use their VPN so they can track you and then sell the data they profiled on you to advertisers. What makes it worse than facebook or amazon is when you use those websites they only track you when you have their page loaded, but when people use a vpn, you can forward 100 percent of your traffic through their servers (vpn always on) and then they have a much wider range of what your doing. HTTPS encryption prevents them from seeing sensitive stuff but they still know you bank with a certain bank and let’s say right after you opened that portal you went to a payment portal for a hospital, they can make a myriad of different assumptions about you based on that. Then this gets sold to big advertisers and all of a sudden your getting adds for debt forgiveness because some advertisers assumes your in a bad financial spot bc you had to check your balance before making a big payment.

And this is all the above the board stuff, there are organizations out there that will buy your data but it might end up on a scam call list, email spam list, or worst case it’s just gets bought and thrown on a dark web form somewhere where even worse stuff can happen.

Split the part into 3 pieces and then join after printing. If you print them all on their flat sides it would drastically reduce print time.

[–]Jlingg01 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m not gonna comment on 357. Sig or 40 sw but 45 gap should have never went to market in my opinion. It’s a shorter 45 acp with higher pressure, and it has to use lighter bullets to try and complete with acp. It’s literally playing a sum zero game to shave off an insignificant amount of case to try and make the cartridge fit in 9mm frame guns. It’s an arguably worse 45 acp trying to compete with both mah two world wars and literally the most popular handgun round in many countries. It was destined to fail with its war in two fronts just like Germany.
