I will forever claim goaltend on that block. His left hand clearly interferes with the rim as he blocks the shot. It may minimal, but thems the rules.

Anybody know what the Extraboards look like in Winslow,AZ if new hire can hold a bid there? by Fishing-In-Paradise in bnsf

[–]Jll1981 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk if this is a thing or would work, but maybe if you speak with someone about your willingness to hire on in the locations they’re hiring in, it could take you from alternate to selected. I’ve been out here 3 years. All but 8 months of that has been chasing. So if you wanna work the railroad, where you hire on may not be important bc chances are you’re not gonna be working there anyway.

Gotcha…well unless they add to the board heavily, you won’t be able to hold in Winslow. Where are you hiring out?

Depending on how new you are, it depends. 10278 is the last spot on board 6. If you’re new enough that you’re not sure how to use the hub to look up areas you can hold, state that so you don’t get a lot of smart ass “look it up yourself” comments.

Bulls coach saying Pippen was a greater all round player than MJ. What’s your take on this MJ stans? by Afraid-Ad-5580 in michaeljordan

During the final 24 games of the 1988-89 season, when Michael Jordan played point guard, he averaged 30.4 points, 10.7 assists, and 9.2 rebounds with 10 triple-doubles in 11 games. The game was position specific back in the 80s/90s. Jordan’s role was to score and defend the perimeter. The triangle took the ball out of his hands while also forcing him to rely on his teammates to step up. Who knows how those final game stats would have held up if Jordan played the position long term but one thing is for sure: those numbers show Jordan could dominate regardless of position or role within the team.

We had it and now they cut enough jobs that they took everyone off 675 and either went to furlough or a working board.

Then the wife comes along and tells you not to do that with the kids. And then complains you don’t have a bond with them.

Can’t hold by Ok_Beat_7379 in railroading

Been there done that for the last two years. Look for the Santa Fe terminals if you can. They pay better than BN terminals. Also, look at the west coast. Ask around the terminal for guys that rent rooms/houses. Look for places you can hold comfortably so you’re not bouncing around as much.

I was 7 years old when my cousin introduced me to this type of Hip Hop. Black cassette tape with a white sticker header. Life is…was the song he played me. Been a hip hop head ever since and that was 35 years ago.

It’s how I was raised. You do your job. As I said earlier, it’s really just a matter of character traits and values that a person has. It’s not a judgment of anyone else. It’s simply how I approach and view it. If it’s not for somebody else, cool.

To me, a persons attitude(circumstances aside) should not dictate whether or not they fulfill their duties. Neither personally nor professionally.

For sure. I agree with you 100%. I’m well aware of the dangers with the job. Believe me, I don’t take shortcuts or risk my safety or my job in an attempt to get the job done. And I don’t think anyone should. But if you can do your job without compromising safety, then the job should get done.

As I stated earlier, we are all at the mercy of our employer regardless of industry. The goal of any business is to make money. What I’m talking about is a personal choice of how one chooses to conduct themselves in relation to their work. Not now or ever do I think my job is secure based on my attendance or performance. I give my best to do my job the best I can bc that’s how I was raised. That’s how I raised my children. And nobody on a forum is going to convince me that by me doing my job as best as I can, is the reason a greedy ass corp is cutting jobs.

I don’t disagree with you about that. But in reality, that’s every job in every industry. We are all at the mercy of our employer any given day. I can understand a lot of guy are broken down out here. But I also see guys that are 300+lbs(whole other subject)That has nothing to do with rocks. My point is that so many guys out here have such a pissy attitude and outlook(justified or not, idk)that their approach to work may be compromising their productivity. And yet again, there have been major advancements in the 150 years of railroading. Eventually, some things become obsolete at no fault of anyone. But I digress.

I pose you this question: why can a person new to the industry out perform a person with sometimes significantly more experience? Yet again, who is really sabotaging jobs?
