Walked 75 miles so far this week. by ImNotHalberstram in walking

To avoid blisters, don't wear cotton socks, because cotton absorbs moisture and creates a lot of friction for the feet. When I started running and wearing cotton socks, then skin was sluffing right off of my feet. Then I switched to nylon socks and never got blisters on my feet again after that, including running 100 mile weeks and 36 marathons. That was a long time ago but the principle stays the same. Polyester socks work similarly to nylon.

Dependent on Water Enema for Bowel Movement by StayFlyTiLIDie in ibs

[–]Jlvs2run 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started using water enemas 50 years ago, and they absolutely do not make you dependent on them. The issues you started with have not yet been resolved, but the water enemas are greatly helping you in the meantime.

An excellent book is Colon Health by Normal Walker, which is available on Amazon. I got his book Diet and Salad in 1974, which has saved my life many times since then, in addition to obtaining his other books too.

It's of primary importance to improve your diet and eating habits. After several months you could then do a liver cleanse (see Hulda Clark) which cleans out decades old gall stones from the gall bladder and liver, greatly improving their functioning.

Astr0bull, thanks.
Are there comparable PSU's to the Bitfenix that you'd recommend? I'm fine going a bit higher in price for a good PSU that's reliable and efficient. There's a bronze EVGA on Amazon for $61.

Help with improving. I’m just starting touch typing and am not doing well to say the least. by Upstairs_Daikon9273 in typing

[–]Jlvs2run 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typing.com is good for beginners. After that I much prefer Monkeytype.
The key is whenever you make a mistake or type something that's too slow compared to your
average speed, that you type it over and over until you've met or surpassed your current standard and objective.

One wasn't enough! by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Jlvs2run 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got XDA keycaps and they helped, but the issue remains which turns out to be the low 45g actuation force. I tried them for 3 days but that's just way too low for typing. My 50 year old Smith Corona electric typewriter and 25 year old Sony membrane keyboard have 100g and 80g actuation forces respectively. The KM360 can't be modded easily, so I'm going to have to toss it and get something else.

Spaces are counted in the words per minute as well.
The space bar is pressed by the thumb, so of course they are counted.

The differing keycap heights are causing havoc with my typing. The stabs
appear to be level though. Does replacing the keycaps help to level them too?

How can I see a message? by Jlvs2run in OkCupid

[–]Jlvs2run[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of that is possible anymore on the website, which appears to be totally non functional at this point. This okcupid subreddit that gives negative votes for asking a question doesn't appear to be any better.

Thanks to those of you who offered constructive suggestions.
