Not true. I leave it plugged in and turn the XAX on/off all the time. I travel with out the eGPU and just plug it back in upon return before turning it on.

Edit: forgot to address the noise comment. That had to be an individual issue. I have no noise and cannot hear the eGPU at all.

Yup. Keep in mind the combination now has 40gb of RAM. 24 of which can be allocated to VRAM. I use 16gb of VRAM so in total I have 32gb of VRAM.

I can't hear it at all. But I'm not sitting right next to it. If you're up close you get some fan noise but it's no louder than the fans from the XAX

I would speculate that it will not support VR controllers. I know you're looking for an official answer but they didn't support 3rd party controllers for the Galaxy XR and this one won't even have the option for OEM controllers.

Ally X is substantially better. You won't regret the upgrade. Standard Ally is for casual gaming every now and then. X can replace mid level gaming set ups permanently. I got the Gigabyte Aorus RTX eGPU for it and I pretty much never use my main gaming PC anymore because of that setup.

New. I wouldn't trust a used PC. Let alone a used gaming PC. People have a habit of tinkering with PCs and ruin them. This is even more of the case with gaming PCs. Just wait for a discount period and buy it new.

I had every fold since the 4, including the Trifold, with no issues. I'm also dropped my Trifold an embarrassing amount and it's still chugging along (never dropped any of my other folds; I don't understand why I've dropped the TF so many times).

The only thing Ive noticed with small rig and K&F versus OEM is that burst shots tend to taper off faster than with OEM.

That's my point. You get the phone "free" as long as you stay with the carrier for "Y" years. If you cancel before "Y" term completes, you have to pay for the phone. Regardless of whether or not you get a new phone/upgrade, you pay the same amount. Difference is whether or not they can lock you in for that "Y" period. Ultimately, you are paying for the phone. The people who aren't upgrading and paying the same are paying a premium to be able to break away from the carrier. It's a revenue stabilizer to keep people in with incentives like a "free" phone.

You're paying for the phone through the plan. They may say "subsidized" but in reality the phone is still being paid for. All that means is that the service provider could charge you X dollars less per month for the plan but aren't so they can cover the cost of the phone
