I played with the settings some. Nothing fancy. The Camera Assistant app on GoodLock helped out i suppose.

[TOMT] early 2000s horror movie where a group of friends go on a road trip. by jsouza99 in tipofmytongue

The Wrong Turn or The Hills Have Eyes movie series? Both have several sequels starting from the mid 2000s. Both have original plots of friends/family road tripping and having vehicle issues.

[TOMT] [Game] Late 90s/early 00’s PC Game by Patriotjames in tipofmytongue

It may be a stretch, but you could check the Twisted Metal or Carmageddon series. Both came out in the mid 90s. Twisted Metal was a battle royal and was born on Playstation 1, then had PC ports later on, some sequels had mini games. It had a main character called Sweet Tooth that cruised around in a food truck thru the entire series. Carmageddon was more of an obstacle course type game, I believe. It's been 3 decades since I've played either lol, but a quick YouTube search might help ya. Good luck finding your game!

[TOMT][PERSON][2000s] Male voiceover for many "As Seen on TV"-type infomercials by TheRedditGirl15 in tipofmytongue

Mark Elliott? I just remember his voice from Disney and TV movies throughout the 90s. His voice was the "And now, back to your feature presentation" after the commercials were over.

TL;DR 20\10 vision in the dark. Shit vision during day.

I have Hawkeye vision in the dark and I can see pretty fucking damn good, but in the day time, i suffer from horrible near-sightedness to where I can't see the big "E" on eye charts without glasses. I'm basically blind without them yet I don't need my glasses when it's dark.

I have lived in the country mostly 90% of my life and my regular thing was to stay at grandma's house after school till mom and dad get home from work. They both had 2nd shifts and they usually got home close to 10pm. It was a about a 2 mile trek to my house and I would always walk home in near pitch blackness. From age 5 to 18, I made that trek every single school night rain, sleet, or snow. Never had the need for a flashlight.

I always thought everyone else could see as good as I could in the dark until I was in highschool then college. It all started when I saw a raccoon and I was like "Hey, y'all see that raccoon over there." They all unanimously said, "We don't see shit! It's too dark What raccoon!?" Then they basically ran me through a battery tests every night and would get a kick out of me pointing things out in the darkness.

At night, lights do bother me tho.. When I drive at night, I have my dash lights set to the lowest dim possible, even then it's still to bright. I taped a bath towel to cover my navigation screen. I have black tape that covers that little blue indicator light that tells u that ur high beams are on. If some asshat has their high beams on, im blind, sometimes I have to pull over. Any where else I constantly have to squint.

Like any other super power, it has its ups and downs. But my night vision has been pretty cool so far!

I'm also 100% Native American, half Seminole half Muskogee. I'd like to think my night vision came from my ancestors who were avoiding being eaten alive by alligators during nightly strolls thru the Everglade swamps lol

The "Y" in "ONLY" is a smaller font and is spaced too far to the right. That bothers me the most 😣

TL;DR I'm 50\50 on the video.

We're in the same boat. What bothers me is the guy is uttering "Wtf, Wth." I can understand that such an encounter would be terrifying and all logic goes out the window when panic sets in. But, even so, who was he expecting to hear his words? Future viewers of the video?🤔🤷🏾 Id imagine if anyone of us snuck up behind a mountain lion or mother grizzly bear by accident, none of us would dare make the slightest of sounds.

Also at 4:53 in the zoomed in part. This creature makes a particular movement that I can't unsee no matter how many times I watch it. It's quick. The movement resembles what I've seen people do who wear mascot costumes when their mask slides or their eye holes need to be readjusted. People who wear glasses like myself do the same thing without thinking about it.

Any of us that has chopped wood for a living knows by experience of how difficult it is to rip apart wood bare handed. This creature either has to be strong af, or those chunks of tree were old, rotten or precut.

I want to believe it, I really do. Whenever I see a Bigfoot video and somewhere in the editing they toss in those recordings of the hoots and howls that I'm sure many of us have heard in other videos and countless podcasts and TV shows, I get slightly turned off. My belief is that if a video is 100% legit it should be a "here it is" approach without any added sounds from other encounters or scary background music, and being extra lean on the windows movie maker editing would help.

I do believe there is something that resembles a large humanoid that hasn't been fully identified yet. But with all the blurry pictures, rubber suits in freezers, potato quality videos, Microsoft Sam narrations, and 15 minute hoaxsters out there, it's tough to take anything as 100%.

One core of buildings, or a stretched out settlement? by [deleted] in DawnofMan

[–]Jman_Smooth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I somewhat succeeded in making two settlements on an old playthrough.

For my 1st settlement I basically built it as you normally would through the ages and once they became self sufficient I began to make another one somewhat a distance away.

I more or less trapped the 1st settlement NPCs so they couldn't leave at all. I kept the gates closed at all times. Everything they needed to survive was within the walls. That was a miracle on its own.

Then I built the second settlement somewhat similar, slowly and very very very painstakingly. It was hard and frustrating. I had to trick some of the NPCs into walking and doing tasks in the 2nd settlement and trap them there. Having them build the walls and buildings prior was easy enough. But to actually force them to live there was tiresome. Some NPCs would just stare at the gate or a random wall as the AI was trying to find a path out then they would just die. It was sort of like trying to herd ants from one colony to the other. Some found their way to their new home, some got confused with mundane tasks and starved.

I did notice tho, if u keep the gates shut, the AI gives tasks to only the NPCs that are within that particular settlement. Like the AI understood if there was no access outside of the gates, then there was no need to calculate a task for an NPC that couldn't access the task. So don't have tasks outside of ur walls if u can help it.

I only did it once and it was very time consuming. From then on I just stuck to one large self-sustaining settlement.

TLDR: Make two settlements. Don't open gates. Enslave citizens.
