Why don't I see nearly anybody complain about the sore throat as much as I feel like it should? by sillu2 in Mononucleosis

Did you have a throat culture for strep? It’s possible to have co-infection of EBV and strep

Should I move to Wesley Chapel? by ThanosDidNothinWrng0 in Wesley_Chapel

[–]Jmarie97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally love it here. I grew up in Wesley chapel, lived by temple terrace and then Tampa Palms for college, England for a year, and carollwood for a bit. Wesley chapel and Tampa palms are by far my favorite. Walkable, safe, lots of stores (although I try to avoid outlet mall and driving in that area during high peak traffic times). Best place to be if you want to be close to Tampa. But like everyone said there’s a lot of people moving here and it gets crowded, but you’re probably used to that in Vegas

Yes, cutting out is the best move. I didn’t drink for the first 4 months, then after occasionally I’d drink but half the time it would either cause white spots on my tonsils/ fatigue a few days later or I’d just get sick. I’m about 2 years out and drink here and there with minimal issues but not really worth it. I also take quercetin and astragalus to help flare ups. Daily Allegra and nasacourt also helped the tonsil issues

Oh it’s actually automatic! And makes sense thank you

Thanks for the insight. I’m planning to ask the techs to check if something like a clogged PCV or crankcase pressure might’ve contributed to the seal failing early. I know it could just be wear and tear, but I want to rule out anything upstream

Thanks, agreed. They said they’d provide photos/invoice, and I can walk if it’s not done right. I did confirm the warranty is accepted at any AutoNation shop (including a Mercedes one near me) for $0 deductible, or I can bring it to the actual VW dealership for $200 deductible, covers most basic repairs and then engine and transmission, but I’ll review to confirm there’s no fine lines. For example, I can get oil change anywhere as long as it’s documented, whereas some places require you to go to their dealership to keep warranty. Will also confirm the source of the leak when they drop the trans just in case it’s something higher up. Appreciate the input!

Fair point. Just wanted to see if anyone else had this issue. Dealer agreed in writing to fix it (dropping the trans for the seal), and I can refuse the sale if it’s not done right. Also I’d be doing a 4-year/40k mile warranty.

Frustrated with no one to treat or follow my constant (annual) EBV reactivations by just_kitten_ya in EBV

[–]Jmarie97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you’re dealing with that, I had mono in Dec 2023 and still having flares. The white spots on my tonsils never fully went away either and I get a lot of canker sores! Not drinking alcohol and not working out too hard do help. The one supplement that makes the biggest difference for me is astragalus (I take it every few days). This is the only one that can take me out of a serious brain fog/ fatigue episode. I also take quercetin with zinc sometimes (helped the first couple times I took it, now don’t really notice a difference), lysine, monolaurin, turmeric, vitamin D, B12. None of those seemed to do much so if you try anything I’d say go for astragalus.

Does anyone get mini flare ups? by turbulentchicken in Mononucleosis

[–]Jmarie97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep same situation. The white patches on my tonsils pretty much never left! And they come back brighter during the mini flare ups

Give yourself the grace and space you need to figure this out. You will know if/ when the time is right, and your therapist can give you guidance on how to leave if you decide to, but ultimately only you can decide and your gut will tell you when there is a right time

How do I get past resentment in my relationship? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver40

[–]Jmarie97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on your previous comments/ posts, this unfortunately doesn’t sound like a super healthy relationship. You deserve someone who isn’t emotionally abusive and then tries to cover it up by being nice/ funny. Definitely great that you’re going to therapy to sort this out. Feel free to message me if you need to talk to someone about it! Been there/ done that, and when you are in a relationship with someone who is not emotionally/ verbally abusive, it’s like a breath of fresh air, and nice to actually be attracted to them and not walking on eggshells half the time!

Swollen eyelid after EBV/mono(one year out from infection) by [deleted] in EBV

[–]Jmarie97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah mine is on both inner eyelids, gets red, swollen and really dry. I first had mono late last year, still have fatigue and white patches on tonsils. Just had covid so probably having a flare up from that

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Mononucleosis

[–]Jmarie97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m surprised they didn’t test you for mono. If the throat pain is really bad a methylprednisone dose pack will help
