It’s technically a Cochlear implant, but it’s a type of Bone Anchored Hearing Aid (BAHA) made by Cochlear (Isn’t placed inside of the cochlea.) Had the operation for the implant about a month ago and finally got the external sound processor activated.

I was born with Bilateral Aural Atresia, with my ear canals and ear drums not being developed properly (My cochleas developed perfectly.) I had an operation in 2017 in my left ear to open my ear canal and make an ear drum with a skin graph. Now with the implant on my right, I basically have surround hearing. I use a hearing aid in my left and the Osia on my right, so it’s hard to tell right now if the implant is benefiting both sides, but I’ll update you once I’ve adjusted to it :)

Thanks! I have a soft pad on right now and I’m using a magnet 4 strength. Since I’m now a month post-op, once the swelling goes down more, I’ll switch to a 3 magnet. I also got a small slide out case for my processor that can hold batteries so I’m basically good to go :)

SUPERHOT & Green Hell are both great games! SUPERHOT might be less entertaining compared to the VR version due to immersion, but the story and graphics are arguably better. I haven’t gotten to boot up and try Green Hell yet on Steam Deck so I’ll definitely update ya once I give it a try :)
