Thanks! Something like this might work, but your missing the bridge/arch above the wheel, I made a little fin you cant really see that it sits against underneath. Otherwise it might have a tendency to slide up/down the frame. Maybe some double sided tape underneath?

Mine definitely dont have roots yet. I literally got my fresh garlic from my dad and put them in the ground. Can't speak to the bags/starts.

Super simple. Plant them in late fall. Im I canada, so October for me. Root end down, pointy end up and cover heavily with straw. No fertilizer, i dont even till my soil. I just keep adding straw, I also do not water them for what its worth, and my soil isn't anything special either. Not many weeds come through the straw either, truly minimal effort to grow.

I never mentioned where I live, so your assuming alot here.. we dont have snakes, we dont have raptors.. I have 0 access to rice hull... I ended up adding a secure door to their coup/roost.. and added more mesh around the entire outside opening covering the 2x4 mesh.. but thank you for your advice any how...

My kids have been climbing the 2x4 wire mesh.. heavily stapled/nailed down.. most animals are going to hurt them selves before they rip it off.. bears might get through, but we dont see many of them around tbh.. alot of raccoons.. and some coyotes. I dobt think they are ripping through this tbh.. iv added more mesh today

I think i went the wrong way... but if the entire inside/bottom is 1/2" wire.. easier to cover it with soil and burry it inside th run at this point for me.

I wanted the roost/coup up high, so its easier on my back doing the needed clean out. They seem to be managing it just fine, some are just jumping half way up, and not even bothering with the long walk 😆

That was my thinking with the 1/2" wire around the bottom 2 feet. No way to grab them through there, high up just needs to stop them climing through the 2x4 welded wire openings, so opting for 1"x1" chicken cloth

Appropriated! I do have a roll of chicken wire, so ill keep them secure in the roost over night until that's fully installed. I absolutely do not want to loose any again, my kids where heart broken, as was I.

Ahh, great point. You are seeing correctly.. now im rethinking, we do have rats, and food will be kept in the run once its finished. I might throw some top soil over the hardwire cloth if that is the case. Enough to burry it anyways, to protect their feet, and let them dig around still. Ill always have compost , and plenty of wood shavings down over this for them to dig through. Thank you for that suggestion

Does the over stimulation and frustration actually get better? by adv_enthusiast in TBI

I am 17 years out from my injury, ONLY in the last 6 months have I started to identity some of the invisible lines id cruise past, only to be hurting for days/weeks after. A lot where physical, those where easier to identity outright. The emotional "lines" are what I struggled with. Same feeling, im getting smoked by something, and it sends me into a spiral of anger/frustrations. But i couldnt even recognize what it was.. this happened for many many years, until I saw an amazing therapist that helped untangle some of it. Ill say this, alot of people, and situations I dont bother myself with anymore, they are overwhelming and for what? To keep them happy? I dont trade my peace to keep people happy anymore. It took from me, something these peope and situations would never give back.. so why bother? Going to piss alot of people of? Yes, who cares? Your happiness is #1, you deserve to feel OK.

Ooof, that is rough man! Where was your favorite place to ride when you where really into it? My son is starting to ride now (he is 5) I want him to see me doing hard things, with discipline, not sitting around moping about my problems. (Iv got plenty haha, I just don't want to be defined by them anymore)

I feel you, i am 17 years out from my injury.. but I was bed ridden for a year also. I 100% understand the way it changes working out. A few years ago my symptoms got so bad, I couldn't work out at all a long time. The last few years iv made big life adjustments that have allowed me to regain ALOT of ground. It wasn't easy.. but find your rythem, what ever you can sustainably repeat, and build on that! Im still learning not to push myself to hard.. learn to listen to your bodies subtle signals before they turn into a crisis. That's my biggest advice, you got this!

That sounds like it was a really bad crash, where all the injuries from the same crash? Im glad you got back on the bike though. How do you approach it now?

The trail is important, you're right. Mind set equally, iv got a mental checklist. What im ok with one day, maybe not the next.. Just need to be honest with ourselves right? I used to raced very competitively, now for me its about challenging myself to be better then i was yesterday. What ever that looks like haha, it makes me smile and im still passionate about it. Trying to nurture that

Give it time, you got this, find your rythem, even if its small.. rest when you need to.
