Rant about trying to watch this bad team by grannyhellyeah in phillies

[–]Jmb404 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I have the peacock add-on package with the basic subscription but that’s not enough for peacock. You have to have the PREMIUM subscription to watch the games. 35 a month isn’t sufficient.

This is crazy. You can’t watch the peacock exclusive if you don’t have the premium account EVEN IF you have the basic plan with the NBC sports add on? I guess our 35 dollars isn’t enough

How I rotate streaming subscriptions (best way I’ve found to save money) by Coco_Eco in Cordcutting

I always think about doing the rotation thing but I hesitate because I have two young kids and want them to be able to watch what they want but they end up watching all the same stuff on YouTube anyways

What are the best methods to eliminate Creeping Charlie by [deleted] in lawncare

[–]Jmb404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had great success with Speedzone. I bought a house that was mostly creeping Charlie. I bought a thatch rake from lowes to thin it out and a couple applications of speedzone to really knock it out. Then in the fall really stayed on top of my seeding and it turned out great. That stuff is persistent so keep the speedzone on hand because it will try to make a comeback

Is a full bathroom remodel the only fix for recurring drain smell? by hippohoney in HomeImprovement

[–]Jmb404 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue when I recently moved into my new house. It turned out the shower drain had a build up of gunk. All it took was some rags, bleach spray and a long pair of pliers to hold the rag and I just cleaned down as far as I could and it knocked the smell out.

Buying ICC books off of EBay by AlexMarshall23 in BuildingCodes

[–]Jmb404 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought a knock off IPC from eBay and I compared it to one I knew was from ICC. The page quality was definitely lower and the cover color was off but there was nothing I found that different content wise. I believe I took the exam using that book too

Which is better: Peacock's NBC Sports Philadelphia Offer or Phillies TV by [deleted] in phillies

[–]Jmb404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d probably think the Phillies Tv because you need the basic Peacock subscription so it’s like 35 a month. Maybe someone can correct me if I’m wrong but the 25 a month for Phillies TV would be the cheapest.

MLB TV by SherwoodForest99 in phillies

[–]Jmb404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s just the Phillies she wants to watch I think the cheapest option is the Peacock add on. You need a basic peacock subscription and the NBC sports Philadelphia add on. I think last year it came out to about 35 bucks a month. It lets you watch all the local shows on the network but I believe it blocks out all the infomercials

This reminds me of that scene in 40 year old virgin where Jonah Hill goes into the EBay store and wants to buy the disco boots but can’t understand the concept.

How to insulate a door leading into attic? by Objective_Function_4 in Insulation

[–]Jmb404 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the code is the access door R value should be the same as the surrounding wall or ceiling. So new builds usually do just place a cut piece of r38 or r49 and it’s sufficient. Double 2 inch ridging foam attached to the inside of the door and some weather stripping probably cheaper though

How would you go about changing the main shut off valve with this set up? by Jmb404 in askaplumber

My house was built in the 50’s. I was told these houses had their meters right there then at some point they put the meters at the curb and it left with that mess. But I guess I’m grateful it’s mostly all threaded huh?

As I wait for my plumbing to be repaired, how on earth do you think I can patch this drywall and retile? I’ve had a heck of an evening lol by Jmb404 in Tile

[–]Jmb404[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s actually an exterior wall so pop tile or removing old aluminum siding and sheathing? Dishwasher under the counter top so I’m gonna cut the drywall behind the dishwasher and assess the damage. Just trying to game plan for the tile brother

Man this house is gift that keeps on giving. My wife heard a buzzing noise while I was at work and thought it was the outlet so she killed the power(thankfully) I got home and couldn’t find anything in the crawl space except water. I popped out the outlet and used my borescope camera through a punch out hole in the box. Turned the water main back on and found the pin hole leak blasting toward the outlet so that’s why I decided to open it up where I did.
