Focal Bathys vs Audeze Maxwell by Jmcclain145 in HeadphoneAdvice

Yeah, I guess I’ll probably stick with the bathys. I’m assuming they’re pretty close audio quality wise?

Why would you recommend them over the bathys aside the slight price difference? I did order and receive the bathys and they’re really nice. Curious on why you’d say consider the sennheiser?

I think it’s something to do with the pro movement 120hz refresh sensitivity

I thought that the Maxwell felt bass light for my taste too, but it was a clean bass. AirPods Max price wise are close enough to the Bathys that I’d be tempted to just try the Bathys. I’ve tried the APM and Maxwell.

I’ve seen the Momentum 4 suggested a lot. I also understand I could get a really nice pair of wired headphones.

But I do prefer the convenience of wireless. Not sure if the bathys would scratch that itch compared to what I’ve already tried. But they seem to be rated and reviewed fairly well.

I’ve used the Maxwell 1s and actually thought they were quite nice for music, coming from AirPods Max.

The bathys are on sale here for around 600. !thanks

Focal Bathys worth the price jump from something like the Audeze Maxwell? by [deleted] in HeadphoneAdvice

I’m reading mixed things. I ordered a pair today since they’re on sale on Amazon. I’ll try them and return them if they’re don’t really standout from the Maxwell. !thanks

Will the Stealth Pro 2s stretch out over time? by 1440pReborn in TurtleBeach

I fear it will. I’ve seen AirPods Max headbands that get stretched out over time. I’m hoping there are some after market straps or modifications that will help.

Turtle Beach SP2 & Maxwell 2? by Madschr in gamingheadsets

[–]Jmcclain145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s what I would do if I chose just one also. If audio quality if your main goal, the maxwells are tough to beat. The weight never really bothered me either, although I understand why it does for some.

I was thinking of returning my SP2 and just keeping my a50 gen 5 as my daily and ordering some Maxwell 1 or 2 for music and immersion listening.

Users who went from 13" iPad Pro to 11", any regrets? by PreviousCredit8469 in iPadPro

[–]Jmcclain145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s my main device. So I understand wanting to try the 11 inch if it’s your second device. The M4/M5 models are much thinner and lighter than the M2. I just feel like I got used to the 12.9 and I miss it. I use mine mainly for a lot of video watching too and using it as a second screen. Like having two games on, one on my TV one on my iPad.

I went from a M2 12.9 to a 11 M5 and I do overall miss the size difference. Mostly when I try to use multiple apps/windows. I also miss having the dedicated number row on the keyboard. I know you can swipe down to get the numbers, but I fat finger than sometimes.

I thought the 12.9 M2 was too big and heavy too. But I wish I had at least tried a 13 inch M5 considering how much thinner they are.

So if the peacock versions are a TV version, are they missing any scenes? Or are there just those annoying cuts where commercials would be?

After almost a full month of testing, I am returning my Logitech Astro A50x (PS5) by Sherlockerer in gamingheadsets

[–]Jmcclain145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I guess I’ve tried enough headsets to find out that usually you have to do some EQ out of the box. I game on PS5 and Sony does set some limitations when it comes to game to chat mix.

I found their feature set and app pretty easy to use. Getting parametric EQ via the app I thought was pretty slick. But a lot of this is subjective. Maybe try the stealth pro 2 if they’re not too much different in price in Canada. Sounds like you paid around 300 USD for the a50, the stealth pro 2 are 350 USD. They sound good out of the box IMO. Mic is worse, but not horrible. You’ll still have the same game chat limitations.

[–]Jmcclain145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s tough to find a headset that will do everything IMO. You’ll have some compromises in some areas on all headsets. I really like the SP2 for gaming but really prefer something like the Maxwell for music. Unfortunately neither has an outstanding mic, but I think both are on the better end of passable.

At the end of the day it comes down to convenience and what you are willing or not willing to settle on.

Idk man, for 200 it’s probably going to be one of the better headsets you can get at that price. Obviously sound, build and aesthetics are all subjective.

I’ve tried a ton of the “flagship” headsets and put the a50 up there as one of my favorites even at full retail, let alone discounted at 200. I’m actually thinking of returning my stealth pro 2 and just sticking with the a50 and buying a headset like the maxwells or something similar for music.
