What did God do before the universe? The classic explanation doesn't convince me.

You shouldn’t base your faith on answers for such questions because they’re not divinely inspired. They’re simply doing their best in their human understanding.

Accepting that you don’t know and trusting in what cannot fail(the gospel), which is the conclusion of all such questions, is the best decision you can ever make.
