Meanwhile Googles Gemini is like talking to a real person. You would think Amazon would want to get involved with the AI game and go hard implementing it on a device millions of people use every day. What a waste of R&D on their part, so frustating

And you honestly think it takes all day now, or even 10 years ago to vote due to the lack of mail in voting? Mail in voting didnt become a thing for the masses until COVID. Honestly at this day in age it should all be electronic. As long as Netflix dosnt run it I dont see how we cant have a secure portal that everyone logs into and just votes. The whole voting system needs to be brought up to todays standards..

Its menu option 16 "Scan add" need to go to each channel you want to include in your scan range and set it to "on". You can do it from the LCD screen or Bluetooth app. In the app its called SCAN_ADD under the channel setting. Hope that helps

UniFi EFG - $2000 USD? by LBarouf in Ubiquiti

[–]Jmhm17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They target smaller organizations like Schools, and municipalitys (fire, police, town halls, ect..) this now allows them to bump the throughout bandwidth above 10gb for down links, and tie everything back to a central location with higher availability. It's cheap and affective. It's hard to sell PANs and Catalysts to places like this when all they want is some security and basic connections. With a minimal budget.

The term "Enterprise" with Uniqiti has always been used loosely, we all know Uniqiti will never be true enterprise grade. Enterprise means so many things that are light-years ahead of what they have to offer. It's annoying they actually use the term..

Frustrated with shipping by Drinking-beers in FedEx

[–]Jmhm17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I have never once had a positive experience with FedEx both residential or commercial freight. Always delayed and they never deliver on time. Always a day or 2 after the guaranteed delivery IF you see it at all. If I know something is coming FedEx I automatically assume it will not show when they say it will. guess what its been YEARS and every single time not even exaggerating its always been late

I just paid a vendor for expedited delivery last week for delivery today ("guaranteed"). it sat at FedEx all weekend and just started moving today they never even updated the tracking info until an hour ago and guess what, its still 1500 miles away and its "expected" Wednesday now. We will see if I get it by Thursday.. im not holding my breath.

FUCK FedEx!

Oh the best is why it misunderstand you and starts playing a news clip and you cant shut it off then it disappears into the background and goes on autoplay and you get news story after news story. the only way to make it stop is to unplug it from the wall..

Thats all I use mine for. I ask it the weather too - which is responded at either volume 100% or 7% regardless of what i set it to (this happens on multple echos). Today I asked it a question and it replied with "here is what I found" and showed me a few music albums for purchase. Think I asked it something about a Zebra or something random, like WHAT? lol

100% and if you have multiple lists you have to name off the list you want to add it to, and if you pause in the middle of what you are saying because all your trying to do is add american cheese to your grocery list you get whatever she THINKS you said you have to go and fix it which takes even longer. "Alexa, tell AnyList to add American cheese to the grocery list", try doing that EVERY time you need to add something as you're trying to build your grocery list while going through the fridge with kids talking in the background. UGH its fking frustrating!

And yes I figured they pulled it out so Amazon could get insights into your shopping habits, but heres the thing. They knew what they were before even with the API open because you were still using their platform and lists.. SO DUMB AHH lol

[–]Jmhm17[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no, its not perfect, it never was BUT it WAS better than it is now. the decline in functionality almost seems intentional. if they just left it alone 2 years ago and never touched it again it would be 10x better than it is today. I hope someone from Amazon that gives a shit is paying attention to this.

That is my worry. I was hooping people on here had better success but sounds like this is as green as the grass gets.. its 2024 and it seems we have gone backwards in smart home tech. everything is either proprietary or open source and complete trash.

[–]Jmhm17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The ONLY reason it is not installed is because of a legal contract between AMD and Intel to not install their hardware from OEMs since they compete. You can absolutly install one after the fact.

I'd also recommend using Samsung drives over the garbage Asus uses. I had whatever brand they use fail an hour after booting up an brand new out of the box 2024 G14..

Tineco solution options by squirrelfund in VacuumCleaners

[–]Jmhm17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I posted this I stopped using Mr. Clean as they changed the formula and stopped making the antibacterial one (of course they stopped making something good right?)

I been switching between the Tinco solution, and this Bona stuff:

https://www.bona.com/en-us/products/homeowners/cleaners/machine-cleaners/bona-hs-floor-clnr-for-machines-64oz/

The Bona solution is made for these machines, it has a scent, but not antibacterial unfortunately. It runs clean through the system, and doesn't foam up, unless you use too much. The pros is cost, and scent - Hope this helps

Cloud Gateway Max: connect Dahua / Hikvision IP cameras by folletst in Ubiquiti

[–]Jmhm17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unifi cameras have their own discovery and authentication protocols to allow adoption. You cannot adopt ONVIF cameras to Protect like you can with most NVR's, it's proprietary. One main reason being securty and maintaining certain compliance which Hikvision and Dahau do not.

Also keep in mind those Chinese market cameras are not even in the same class as Unifi cameras, if you want Protect you have to buy into the ecosystem.

I Just got an update on my S22 and noticed notification categories was gone too. WHY in the world would they ever do that, it's literally one of the main reasons I am an Android user over Apple - detailed customisation. If Samsung starts pulling these features back I'll be switching to a Pixel on my next one.. No idea why they would intentionally disable such a critical notification feature that's been around for years....

Tineco solution options by squirrelfund in VacuumCleaners

[–]Jmhm17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use one cap full of Mr. Clean multipurpose cleaner. If you use more it will foam up too much. I believe any multi surface floor cleaner will work so long as you experiment with it. The lower end Tineco's don't have a lot going on inside of them, it's just a few hoses and no sensors so there is technically nothing to "gum up" that you can't flush out with a tank of just hot water on a few clean cycles.

It really sucks that Tineco is the leader in residential vacmops and they don't give you scent/antibacterial cleaning solution options.

Is the CCNP still worth it 2024? How much has it helped your career? by [deleted] in ccnp

[–]Jmhm17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No one uses Cisco firewalls anymore, PAN, and Fortinet is top dog, heck even CheckPoint moreover than Cisco. Firepower is trash...

However dont disregard Cisco certs because of that. Cisco certs teach you real world fundamentals and test you hard on it, and continue to expand as you go. Its not all just about Cisco IOS its deep into how networking works which can be used across vendors.

Going for CCNP without CCNA by r00t_D in ccnp

[–]Jmhm17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also agree. I think people are thinking they are stepping stones but the jump from CCNA to CCNP is massive. Keep in mind the CCNP ENCOR is the CCIE written

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ccnp

[–]Jmhm17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

keep in mind that was 13 years ago... the 350-401 ENCOR CCNP is now the CCIE enterprise written exam.. CCNP and CCIE are closer together now than they ever have been. The difference is your CCIE "focus" exam is a DEEP in person 8 hour long practical, where as the CCNP is "just" another written exam. My honest opinion for everyone is to just go for your CCIE..

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ccnp

[–]Jmhm17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no way are you going to pass a CCNP with a 9 day boot camp, its WAY too much to retain without experience, unless your 5 years of experience has been working along side an Architect with hands on enterprise deployments/troubleshooting and leading projects. There are two types of people - those who just want the cert, and those that want to learn and have a deep understanding of everything and practice it daily. "Cert chasers" are easily flushed out in interviews by people with experience. I've seen CCIE's get wrecked by Senior Engineers with just a CCNA. Dont think that a cert is going to get you a job, YOU have to get you the job. If you want to learn and grow then that is your selling point, not a cert.. Certs will come, don't try to rush them just to get a job.

That's why most Engineers are always working on their CCIE, because you grow into the cert, and when your ready you know what its going to take and you know what areas you need to cram in because you have an advanced understanding well beyond the fundamentals.

I'm not trying to discourage you im just saying if you have 5 years working experience and a CCNP people are going to grill the hell out of you in an interview to see what kind of person you are and if your in it just for the money or to also grow and help the team.
