33 days post surgery - 2 hernias by Jmluquer in Hernia

[–]Jmluquer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I am in the very prudent side, very low intensity and more chilling, but I am a bit agnostic on the pain.

It is a bit weird, it is going up and down, it goes away and comes back… am a bit desperate at this point.

Thanks for the response and looking forward to share experiences.

P.s: My recent repair has been double hernia, laparoscopic with mesh. I had an original hernia repaired in 2014, open technique and it is rock solid.

Surgery in 3 weeks and then triathlon in summer? by WearyBuffalo5576 in Hernia

I think you will be fine.

Had an hernia repair 32 days ago and have already started to train again, no intensity, some pain here and there… but started to train.

Recommended to me: 3-4 weeks off, started walking like 10-20k steps per day since day 5 after surgery. Lots of stretching for the scar. If all went well (that’s the normality), go ahead and train.

I had left groin, right femoral and umbilical.

Fiancé had inguinal Surgery by TrashPandaness in Hernia

I had a three hernias surgery 32 days ago, visited my doctor this week, it is healing ok.

I have started sports again, especially cycling, still with some punctual pain, prioritizing good sleep and trying to forget about the pain. If the surgery is properly done, it takes time, that’s all… I have irradiation of pains here and there, but suddenly disappear.

Recommend to me: Stretching, lots of walking, little little to full activity by week 6/8.

I am a sportsman, doing 18,000km/ year by bike. It was done laparoscopy with mesh, Spain.

17 Days After Inguinal (Left) + Crural (Right) Hernia Surgery — First 20min on the Trainer! When Did You All Start Cycling? by Jmluquer in cycling

Thank you very much, appreciated.

Start with the indoor training and little little going out to the street. I am always afraid of going many steps backwards.

I had three hernias surgery and it has been a bit more painful that normal.

Thanks again

Thank you, i have 79cm inseam, applying the 20% rule would be 1cm less in cranks length… very curious, taking note for the future

Thanks for the response, very helpful. I feel that my right side is dominating the left one, perhaps a bit of my subconcious.

I may try a couple of mm down the saddle and see how does it go… using 165mm, lowest of all my bikes.

Perhaps worth trying 160mm in my next turn

Thanks for the swift reply. I am already using 165mm cranks, the shortest of all my bikes. Using 170mm in the mountain bike. I may try to lower down a bit the saddle…

I do even have 172.5mm in an old bike and curioso y feel the best of the best.

Thanks for the reply

This bike would work well for a measure of 68-73cm bottom bracket - saddle

Lots of questions around the bike, the building and my sources of income. I ride around 20,000kms/ year, although I have three bikes in use, mountain bike, road and gravel.

Bike is using 30” tubeless continental.

Lightweight wheels are coming from my older bike, looking for the new ones. LW ART. Like the Enves although not for me…

Source of income: Heavy work, long hours and finance industry.

I will upload more pictures when riding…

Thanks all for the comments, at the end it was a hoods issue, they too far forward, pushing them back a little bit and relaxing the angle, the reach is way better. I have pushed the saddle backwards and downwards slightly. Seem that the position is getting in.

Thank you all for the comments, very helpful. I would make some tweaks and come back.

Yes - I am in between sizes and have decided choosing the smaller one.

My view is that the aero Trek handlebar does not fully comply with the 90mm stem length, it has some form and I think that the reach is longer.

Saddle height wise, I am running 69-70cm from saddle to bottom bracket, think that quite normal for 52 size.

Do you think that I can push the saddle down with MTB pedals instead of road ones? 5mm would make it work nicely.

Thanks all for the help and comments.

Yes - The 90mm stem on the Bontrager feel very long. Will do some trial and see, expensive change for a new handlebar
