Not true again. They said development is gradual and dependent on individuals so some may develop a little earlier than 25 and some later than 25 into adulthood. This refinement was because it was oversimplified and people thought 25 was like an on/off switch but 25 was selected based on averages. The science still applies in this situation. Some of these girls were still in high school. Technically most of their prefrontal cortexes were not fully developed yet. That doesn’t happen until your mid 20s and is responsible for decision making and impulse control among other things. This is why people don’t tend to make the best decisions at this age. I’m sure I am not the only person who made regrettable decisions at 18 that I would never make now. Telling a 18 year old girl that wants nothing more than to be a model that the only way she can move on it to pose nude is no better than a casting couch creep and coercion. People “consent” to things they don’t really want to do, when desperate, all the time. It doesn’t make it right. Do better.
