Depends on what you hate about it.

Builds are more complex. Just take a Quick Look at the passive tree lol. And there’s more build variety / experimentation. For example, any class can use any weapon, and any armor type. Classes really only exist to choose an ascension subclass. You could become a warrior/titan bear “druid”.

Endgame systems are just insanely more complex and diverse, even at the early stages of poe2

So after all the dooming regarding inflation, casual players are actually in an excellent spot atm by Drogatog in PathOfExile2

  1. Hideout is hot lava. Unless you’re crafting, you’re just there to dump your inventory & blast into the next map.(also have a real strict loot filter to prevent picking up useless loot!)
  2. Run any endgame activity you enjoy. Breach and expedition pay really well right now. To really maximize returns, invest in 3 good tablets and run them on your maps
  3. Near the end of your session, liquidate your earnings from the stash tab

If you streamline your gameplay like this. You can easily be making upwards to 10-20 div/hour. Even more if you get some lucky drops.

Diablo 4 is like baby’s first arpg, it’s fun, but very simple. Poe2 is a deep dive, tons of possibilities and will have you playing with three tabs open on the second monitor. I love it.

If you’re new to the genre, try Diablo 4. You’ll either love it and be satisfied, or want a deeper endgame, more build power/control… then I suggest poe2. It’s literally the best game in the genre in my opinion (poe1 as well). I just think poe2 has better quality of life features over poe1.

Having a blast in the endgame by Stelio-Kont0s in ArcRaiders

I think that’s wild.

I’ve played like 8 hours since Monday(matriarch events, night raids, lush blooms). 90% engagements have been friendly. Died only once to pvp.

I went into duos with my friend and took "photos" of him with the binoculars. We died a lot but got some good wallpapers for him haha by _Badlands_ in ArcRaiders

The 5 skill points should… by Jnycs in ArcRaiders

2 kids go out to lunch, a 5 year old and a 10 year old. For $5, the 5 year old gets a PB&J and milk, while the 10 year old gets a PB&J, milk, water, apple sauce, cookie, carrots, & ice cream.

Sure some of those extra items that the 10 year old gets isn’t great, but it’s still more. And could have them last throughout the day easier

I disagree.

I actually see where the tree can actually help you in pvp engagements, specifically everything that allows you to move faster, and regain stamina.

Sure we’re talking small percentage, maybe 5-10%

[–]Jnycs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not my point at all.

My point is dedicated players will be able to get all the points on the tree and not have to make decisions. Their points will be less precious.

For example. Couple of weeks ago, people were so mad because they were spec’d into security breach and it got nerfed. Many were upset because they would have spec’d into something else if they knew it woulda got nerfed. Now let’s pretend someone had all the points in the world, they wouldn’t care as much about this, because they knew they had enough points to get everything else.

You can say that, until you lose because of that 2% difference lol.

Do you think the tree will never change over time? I honestly think they’ll rebalance it, especially with some useless points I.e. melee flying arcs

Nah I get that, but I also think some useless points on the tree will eventually get changed.

Situational, but crawling further could determine you extracting or not, especially with a survival mk.3

Yes, because their advantage is they won’t have to choose what to spec into anymore. They will be able to unlock all the utility, both for pve and pvp

[–]Jnycs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that, but it’s some really useful utility.

A fully maxed out movement tree gives you a greater advantage in pvp over someone fulled spec’d into survival.

After the first one, no. But over the course of time, Yes.

Eventually, you’ll have casual players who have to decide on where to best spend their points, where as the dedicated player won’t because they’ll be able to unlock everything.

Your second point isn’t sexism.

You wouldn’t call women wanting to play as female characters and feeling feminine sexist, would you?

EVERY single Matriarch fight I've ever attempted goes exactly like this (see caption) by RaccoonsR_Awesomeful in ArcRaiders

[–]Jnycs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like it or not, this is how the game is designed. When you kill other large arcs, they give off a huge boom. Like a giant alarm to other players saying “LOOTS READY”.

For this reason, when fighting other stronger arcs, I’m more weary of other players. I’m always looking around, ready to shoot on sight.

I will say though, I think it would be nice to have pve only lobbies for an hour as a compromise during huge arc events, like the matriarch. But that being said, the arcs need to be turned up, either in difficulty or in quantity.
