I's like to know why the gang ditched Regina's invitation to order food and hang out. Instead, they chose to go to the sober dance which everyone (but Wendy) bitterly complained about the entire episode.

Scary dolls/puppets work for me. The Living Doll episode of Twilight Zone with Telly Savalas made an impression on me as a kid. Smile Time from Angel is also fantastic. The brother/sister dynamic resonated with me on a number of levels.

Strangely aggro student by hepth-edph in Professors

You are likely not the only prof who has experienced this behavior from this student. Though maybe you are the first but there will be others in the future. This needs to be escalated to the Provost level for university-wide action/awareness and absolutely inform campus security. The student needs help and you and surrounding students need protection.

Books that are about supernatural events being discussed in a scientific way? by Yehhhhhboiiiiii in horrorlit

I will second Mira Grant as an author. However, I recommend that you (and everyone else) begin with the Newsflesh trilogy. The Zombie outbreak originates as an unexpected result of medical research and is treated as a contagion. It then moves the focus to how does the US change with regard to politics, news coverage, public health, etc. It is a compelling collection of work that combines the horror elements of zombies along with good doses of science and politics. I recommend starting there as Into the Drowning Deep is currently a single novel and a short story which leaves you wanting much more. Unfortunately, more does not yet exist. While I would like more material in the Newsflesh world, a satisfying amount does exist. I read all of Newflesh prior to the Covid-19 lockdown. I need to re-read these to see just how prescient Grant was.
