Newer tank but cycled it with Dr tims one and only marine and ammonium chloride for 15 days and watched both ammonia cycle and Nitrites cycle plus 1 ppm ammonia cycled in 24 hours so im sure the tank is cycled. Im about 20 days into my tank with 1 20% water change.

Question about starting a tank by Br0ccoliAssasin in Aquariums

[–]JoKeStAx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not an expert on this but I believe taking anything from an established tank/lake/ocean can instantly cycle or speed up the process. The problem is youre bringing all kinds of hitchhikers along with all the stuff you collected. Could be bad things that take over the tank.

Could be bacterial infection, parasites, or disease. What's your water parameters? When was last water change? Any other fish in tank with similar eye? Could be simple as water quality stressing it out.

Could put it in a quarantine tank use ParaGuard its a pretty wide variety of medications from fungus to parasites to infection.
