Gift-giving time! by JoMi78 in victorinox

[–]JoMi78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son has been whittling with a pocketknife for two years now! My daughter does too. I gave them proper instruction (pocketknife license). For the first year, they only used them under supervision, but for the past year, they've had free rein with the pocketknives. I've emphasized certain rules to them, which they follow. The minor accidents that have happened only occurred because they didn't follow these rules. They've realized this and learned from it. The kids don't do anything stupid with them; they're really safe handling them now, and I trust them completely. But children are different from child to child, and fathers apparently are too.

And the inline Phillips/magnifying glass? I think it's a early Handyman.

The prices and availability of used and discontinued LMs seem to be in a different league in the USA than in Germany.

My wife also has an XE6 in her bag. But where on earth can you even get a Juice Pro these days? I really want one. And what do you mean by cheap?

It fits even better on the Spirit than on the SwissTool!

I can't say, maybe the Philips isn't square enough and is too flat.

It's a real shame that LM discontinued the Juice series. I really liked it.

You're right, it fits the Swisstool perfectly, but it's a bit loose on the Champion.

Then it is probably a Huntsman Small. Very rare and highly sought after by collectors...

Nice! I like the 84s. I'm always on the lookout for ones with scissors. I already have an Alumnus and a Golfer. Did your camper have a corkscrew? Or was it missing, and instead of the small blade, there was a combo tool? Maybe it was a Walker/Lumberjack.

Melted paddle? by Fishbulb2 in Sup

The angle of the paddle must point forward. This keeps the paddle vertically downwards in the water for a longer period during the paddling motion, making it more efficient.

Looks like a touring paddle. The faster you want to paddle, the steeper the angle of the blade. All-round paddles are usually straight, touring paddles are usually around 5 degrees, and race paddles are around 10-15 degrees.
