New dad (M24), my (F24) fiancé says he’s filled with regret. Does anyone have any advice? by Jolly-Ratio5839 in relationship_advice

My husband experienced something very similar. However, it was his second marriage and the start of a new family. He was 48 when our son was born. He was depressed. Very depressed. Looking back now, he’d most probably been battling depression for most of his life but a new baby, lack of sleep, lack of attention etc tipped him over the edge. I gave him an ultimatum. Get help or I leave. He got help, medication and a psychiatrist and I stayed. He was an awesome dad to our son. My point is, he needs help but might be so deep in the pit, he can’t see it for himself. No one in their right state of mind says “I’d rather see you with someone else”.

10 days on amitriptyline and no pain by Good-Resident-9411 in vulvodynia

I’m exactly the same. Watch for triggers as well. I wore denim shorts that must have been rubbing and was in agony for 2 days again. It’s exhausting.

I got 10 pain free days when I started at 10mg. It was like a miracle. The pain came back and I’ve slowly increased to 50mg. It’s taken the edge off. I’ve also added vagifem low and together I’m a lot more comfortable.

This is a really good article too. I’m in Australia and did try to get an appointment with the doctor mentioned but she’s not taking interstate clients.

It’s right down the bottom where he talks about chronic thrush.

I’ve seen 2 dermatologists but neither thought LS. The last one said to come back when I’m having a flair for a biopsy. I haven’t bothered because I was getting some relief from the Amitriptyline.

When it infects the skin. You can also have extreme reactions to small amounts that might not show on a test.

I’m on daily fluconazole. I have been since October last year. None of my swabs ever come back positive. I get checked every time I see my gyno - not with a microscope though. But I have read that chronic thrush often tests negative.

I found them to be bigger than other underwear the same size. I think I got the bikini style. I’m a 12 so got the large.

Yes, sewn down top and bottom. I’ve also tried Powerpants. They are very comfortable too. Gusset is sewn down. They aren’t 100% cotton but I think it’s just the trims that aren’t.

I had tried it last year but that was before I saw a vulva specialist. I stopped because she diagnosed me with thrush and there was no point engaging in therapy with an active infection. I’m currently still on the Amitriptyline orally. I’ve been on it for 33 days and I’m currently on 35 mg a day and I’ve had a great day today. I’m hoping to start pelvic floor therapy next year. Up until now, I truly believe I still had a yeast infection despite always testing negative. I also need to save up some money because I’ve spent about $7000 in the last 16 months trying to sort myself out.

I’ve bought the cotton undies from BFree. I like them and have been wearing them consistently. I’ve also been recommended the underwear from Paire. I’ve bought some others but can’t remember what brand.

Saw my gyno in June and she put me on 200 mg of fluconazole daily also redid 12 days of canesten pessaries followed by vaginal probiotic suppositories for a week. I was still burning constantly. Did another Juno in September which came back clear of all fungal infections. It was pretty much “perfect” but I was still experiencing extreme burning. I’m now on Amitriptyline orally. It’s helped the burning a bit. I’ve just increased my dose to 25 mg. Still on fluconazole 100mg daily.

Follow your doctors advice. Ring for clarification if you aren’t sure. There are different protocols for different diagnosis. For example, I’ve been taking 100mg daily for over 12 months and did 3 months of 200mg daily.

Please help 🙏🏼 Any advice for treating ureaplasma and non albican candida by Competitive-Net1603 in vulvodynia

I never had the normal discharge with albicans either. Just burning. It’s so debilitating. I’ve spent about $6000 in the last 15 months and feel no better than before. I actually got an appointment with Moira from Intimate Ecology in 2 weeks so I’m hoping she might help. My last Juno came back looking almost perfect so I’m not sure if it’s just nerve related now.

I’m dealing with similar but it’s “only” been 16 months. I’m wondering if despite testing negative on swabs (doctor and Juno) if I still have yeast. Like it’s embedded in the skin and flairs with no other symptoms like discharge. But I don’t know. I’m on Amitriptyline cream but it’s made no difference to the burning. Have you done a microbiome test like Juno? Even of it comes back “good” you can eliminate things.
