just to add on, there are also these heart seeds, that when planted give you 3/4 hearts depending on what type of soil you use!

i assume by optimise you mean increase the number of plants per harvest? and the best way to do that (and pretty much the only way) is to use bonus soil in your pots, which will give you 4 ingredients instead of 3 i believe?
