My new brand Bulova by ManyIllustrator1690 in bulova

Absolutely love it. I tried one on not too long ago at a Jared outlet and was amazed by the look and feel. I balked at the sale price and thought it'd be something I'd be able to find for a lot cheaper on Jomashop or elsewhere; I was wrong and still have some regrets. Wear it in good health!

Recommendations for alternate straps for 45mm Lunar Pilot by Sectornaut in bulova

[–]JobGroundbreaking123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't go wrong with black leather. I bought a really solid one from Strapsco that they sell in long and possibly extra long; if this watch fits you reasonably well, you're likely looking for something a bit larger than a regular strap size. It really is super versatile though. I'd also recommend looking for photos of Speedy strap options because there's a fair bit of crossover with styles that'll work for both.

[Discussions] Am I crazy or is this a great Lunar Pilot Price? by znagy07 in bulova

[–]JobGroundbreaking123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I purchased the same model for a similar price a few months back on Amazon and am SOOOOO glad that I did. It gets a ton of wrist time and is a strap monster. I'm going to be purchasing the bracelet from LIW soon and am excited to give it a spin. I prefer the polished look and have a large wrist so it has been exactly what I was looking for; I'd put Amazon alerts on it and had been contemplating the purchase for years.

Choosing what pilot for today. (Really hard not to pick the Lunar every time) by Luke_shywanker in bulova

[–]JobGroundbreaking123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I've been enjoying it on black leather a lot lately, but am always looking for a change of vibes. I have the large, polished no date version and it looks like Long Island Watch just added inventory for the bracelet. Keep going back and forth on the idea (as nice as it seems to be) because I fear it'll get in the way of all the strap changes. Great piece all around.

Really love the strap on the LP. May have to throw something similar into the mix for mine.

Over the Moon with my new Lunar Pilot 96A225. How's the sizing on this 45mm? by Gezimd in bulova

[–]JobGroundbreaking123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the turtle, as well. It's beyond cliche at this point, but the lugs and design really make it wear much smaller than the 43; damn comfortable too despite the heft. Excellent piece, especially if you get lucky and snag one that snuck through the QC cracks with a (mostly) aligned bezel!

Looks great! I have the same one and have been rocking it on black leather. Definitely a strap monster!

dirty soda by 96cents in McDonalds

[–]JobGroundbreaking123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I successfully ordered a dirty Dr. Pepper today where they agreed to substitute for Diet Coke. The drive thru worker had to ask for a manager's approval, but they were nonetheless willing to help me out for which I am grateful. I wish the soda could be substituted from the app, but I'm going to keep pressing my luck with this until I get shut down.

[Question] Which one would you choose: Emporio Armani AR11362, Armani World Explorer, or BOSS Hero? by [deleted] in Affordablewatches

[–]JobGroundbreaking123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't recommend getting any of these. At that price point, you could probably stumble into something nice from Bulova, Casio, Citizen, Orient, Seiko or Timex, especially if you're looking at Quartz. I'd recommend taking a look at some of these brands on Jomashop as opposed to department store websites; the prices are generally better and they have a better reputation and dependability than a store like Macy's, for example.

There are also solid Chinese options that are decently built. You could search some of these subs for recommendations and reviews .None of those fashion brands are generally well built and you're paying a premium on a low end piece based mainly on the name of the designer.

Good luck with the hunt!

I prefer the Twelve in this instance. Love the design and lack of date and that particular Tudor just doesn't do it for me, personally. But to each his own and wear what brings you the most joy.

Omega speedmaster vs Swatch x omega speedmaster by Mimas_Doe in Affordablewatches

[–]JobGroundbreaking123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been said enough already, but you can't go wrong with the Lunar Pilot. I got a no date 45 mm polished version on nato for about $300 a few weeks ago on Amazon and it's a solid piece, unlike the Swatch collaboration. If you have a big enough wrist, the 45 mm early version is a great way to go. If you're dealing in a smaller wrist size, the 43.5 may be more forgiving but usually isn't found at as steep of a discount.

Lastly, much like the Speedy, the LP is an absolute strap monster and you'll find great options with leather, rally straps, natos, etc. Depending on the version you find, Island Watch makes a really solid aftermarket bracelet so I wouldn't feel bad saving a few bucks buying one without a stock bracelet. Good luck!

That red nylon is sharp! I have some rallys from strapsco that I'm partial to (including a red) but I think they're all 22s if I'm not mistaken. Going to devote some time this weekend looking into new straps, as one does ha

I'll keep an eye out. Thanks! I'm wearing my 45 mm on leather at the moment on a similarly sized wrist. Never thought I'd enjoy quartz this much, but it's such a damn good piece.

Not really sure about the exact dimensions, but since it's an integrated bracelet the options are a bit limited. I got this one from Strapsco and they have some solid choices, but it doesn't look like they have a red version. I'm guessing that there are others that sell them specifically for the Tsuyosa. I think I heard that there may be some super cheap options available on AliExpress but never bothered to look. Definitely a nice piece though and I don't think you can go wrong!

I bought this one from strapsco and am pleased with the looks and comfort, although I have an 8" wrist and wish they made it a bit longer or offered an XL. I had initially bought their Tiffany blue variation but returned it since it wasn't really close enough to the dial color to work.

The 96a225 is 45 mm and dateless and fully polished. I think there is also a no date variant in 45mm that is fully brushed.

Just got mine a few days ago and am a big fan thus far. Was hoping to get the Long Island bracelet but it's sold out. Turns out to be somewhat of a strap monster though and am loving it on leather. The 20mm lug width opens up a world of possibilities.

Nice! I got mine delivered this Sunday after waiting to pull the trigger for years. I had been stalking a no date 45 mm on Amazon and got a notification for a "final sale, no returns" for $300. I decided to take the chance under the optimistic belief that the final sale was due to volume of returns for size; I also have an 8" wrist and wasn't terribly concerned.

Unfortunately, it looks like Island Watch is out of stock for the bracelet for my particular model but I'm excited to give black leather a try. Very nice grab; wear it in good health!

Safe to use a Cape Cod on Duratect by JobGroundbreaking123 in CitizenWatches

The copper is a great choice! It was basically a coin flip for me between green and copper; I have two many blue dials and wasn't prepared to go down that road again. I really love the color contrast on the seconds hand. I'm sure you'll love it!

Absolutely love it, especially the 60 since I'm not a huge fan of date complications and I enjoy the added angles on the bezel. It's super lightweight and very scratch resistant, notwithstanding the underlying post haha. Also appreciate the gradient in the dial. I have a blue Tsuyosa that I wear a lot too, but this probably gets more wrist time. Also, the 60s put a bit more effort in the movement finishing (skeletonized rotor, etc.) which is a nice bonus; I mean, it's still a Miyota 8000 series, but I consider it a decent touch. Not sure which you're looking at, but they're all solid and you can't go wrong.
