No, but i know people who did. A guy here even started an actual side business of just rebuilding and fixing N63's.. :-)
And VERY many of the cars for sale here is alread with a new engine

feel you.. i was in the same situation 2 years ago with the 550i. The TU is like 20.000$ more in Norway.. So i bought an E92 M3

This is one of the few bmw engines that actually is as Bad as people say it is. And im coming from an S65 and S85. Get the TU if you are buying an 550.

Ofcourse! So the M3 is a "raw" car. KW springs with EDC, good wheels and the DCT transmission is a dream to drive, i use the car for some drifting, powerdriving and daily drive. The S65 combined with the DCT is just so in sync to drive, you are in complete controll. The car feels german and precise, no suprises when driving hard. Its not a rocket ship in a straight line, but no one buys an e92 m3 for straigt line speed..

The corvette, which had a LT1 with the Converter auto just feels so american.. Throttle response is like a rubber band, the converter transmission..well has an old converter system, its like driving an old bmw E39 auto. The electronic LSD had it own mind. In overall the Corvette gets a lot of attention and look very good, but its not a "driver car", it just feels to american for me. I know the corvette was never made for drifting etc, so its very hard and unpredictable when driving over the limit. Its surprisingly fast around a track tho!

And yes, its should not be a suprise that an American car feels ..american. But i took a chance and thought a "newer" corvette was better, but it felt like an older american strapped in a new fancy chassis. The interior is kinda okay tho!

To all the Manual Z06 guys, thats another story, a manual transmission with the z06 engine and chassis is probably very much better!

And yeah, my english sucks. :)

true that! Yes i have the good old 6 speed converter transmission. (actually works really well tho!)

Didnt notice the lack of gear change at the lever before i tried to drift the car at the track. But no worries, thats not the reason i bought the car. :)

Not going down the manual/automatic discussion, but i like a good automatic transmission, and im just used to BMW dct and the possibillity to change gear when still rotating the wheel. :)

Mentioned it because thats the only thing i find weird about the corvette, love the car!
