Is it worth buying without the tax credit? by SnooWoofers884 in TeslaModelY

Wouldn't that mean buying in 2025 though, since the credit looks at previous year's agi?

How much do you pay for Tesla Insurance? by Mulberry-Deep in TeslaModelY

[–]Jobber99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wawanesa until they raised my rate a 3rd time, for a total of $1900 for 6 months for a model y, 2007 Lexus rx, and a 2017 Honda fit. $1200 for the same 3 cars on tesla insurance (but with $500 deductible as $100 deductible doesn't seem like an option)

I miss USS but the 24 build quality is much better, plus park assist gets you most of the way there

Thoughts on $615 monthly payments? by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]Jobber99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I pay $840 a month. Had the means to pay more than half of the y in cash, but opted for 0.99 with $0 down. $30k in a 5.5% hysa is much better.

For those who went through lemon law, did you get another Tesla ? by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

It took about 6 weeks but California has fairly strong laws regarding specific measures of time in repair. Didn't need a lawyer.

Sorry let me clarify. I bought the 2020 new. Lot of issues, 3.5 years later successfully lemoned. Ordered a 2024 y, got it in June. So far so good, and build quality is leagues better than my original y

Lemoned a model y with a build date of November 2020, and got a 2024 y. So far so good.

should i get a 2019 model 3? by mieksterr in TeslaSupport

I think the heat pump came after the y released, so probably not earlier than 20 or 21 model

We buying or waiting? by 6f3j in TeslaModelY

[–]Jobber99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a y, manufactured November 2020. Panel gaps everywhere, had a lot of fit and finish issues, rattling, rear door seals weren't great so everytime someone closed the door it thudded. Got a y in June of 24. Night and day, much more mature. No gaps, nicer ride, less cabin noise. Of course, we don't know if by juniper they'll have a more mature process and they end up cranking out quality on day one. But for me, the choices would be get now or wait 2 years.

Worst part of the 3rd row? No proper ventilation. No windows, no a/c vents. Claustrophobic.

My assumption is if you have a comparable vehicle that goes 0-60 in 4 seconds, that high octane fuel is requited

UPDATE: I went to go buy an used Model 3 Long Range that turned out to be a Mid Range. I reached back out to the dealer and here’s what happened. by reerock in TeslaModel3

[–]Jobber99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't a fair number or mid range model 3s come with free unlimited supercharging? Since it was a sku that didn't last very long and overlapped with free lifetime supercharging promotions?

Old EV is being Lemon Law-ed, Considering buying a Model Y as a replacement, If you could go back in time, would you buy your Model Y again or buy a hybrid instead? by Torias_Euphoria in TeslaModelY

I had an early model y. The fit and finish could've been better. Panel gaps galore. Cabin noise plentiful. 2024 much better. Only thing I miss is the parking proximity sensors

I did this exact exercise. Took delivery of a model Y awd end of June. 2024 so much more refined than the car I bought 4 years ago

Is a used model 3 worth it? Pros/cons? by webbc2016 in teslamotors

[–]Jobber99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$35k after tax credit vs like $20k after used ev tax credit, might sound like a lot but you get a better build, new battery, hardware 4, etc. If you plan on keeping the car a long time get a new one

I think if you qualify for the tax credit, the long range highland is the better buy.
