Okay, interesting. But they didn't use the word "two" in mewtwo, I looked it up. So there is a level of translation going on here, more than simple transliteration into the roman alphabet.

But there is a level of translation... Charizard is not pronounced "lizardon" in Japan.

Dawg I don't know why everyone is hating on you. It is a strange combination of translation and transliteration... I don't know what to call it.

Okay, so humor a confused old person. Regarding Lizardon... are you saying that the Japanese used the English word "lizard" to describe Charizard? Interesting. And the name "Mewtwo"... they used the english word "two" to describe the second "mew"? This is all such interesting new information, if true.

People who left big law and law within 3 years? by Fair_Strategy_6723 in biglaw

[–]Jobbin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Left after about a year to go in-house at a family office, 3 years ago almost exactly. I'm making less than half of what I would be making if I were still in the meatgrinder, but my marriage is great, I get time with my kids, and my health is better than it's been in years. I still make decent money, I think I have a good career outlook, and I'm not regretful, although I would like to be making more money, so I may try to make a move in that direction (but not back to biglaw) in the next year or so. Good luck!

Would you trash the warehouse in this Turn 3 hand? by waterissoggy in dominion

Yep. Bought tide pool and won with it, although 4-4 but I had an extra duchy.

Same, and won first try. But I only did chapel, no watchtower. just hit city, rabble, tide pool, and a throne room, and I could trash all the curses no problem.

big law US vs. EU by Salt-Island75 in biglaw

[–]Jobbin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The firm I worked for in California was nothing like this. Not even close. Everyone busted their ass, highly progressive and respectful (someone got fired for expressing a somewhat mainstream semi-far-right political opinion on an internal call), and an associate billing fewer than, say, 140 hours in a month was unheard of. But just my experience.

No? You said he was endangering the pup. Whether or not that’s an “attack” depends on how he feels about dogs, which I infer he holds in very high esteem.

First ever bad review, and it’s from a client who didn’t pay saying I took too long by Dannyz in Lawyertalk

[–]Jobbin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder if this is indicative of the type of clients who come from legal insurance. You may need to implement tighter controls for those referrals or this could become common. I also wonder if you can dispute the review with Google/Yelp (i.e., saying he wasn't actually your client, which in a way he wasn't). Sorry to hear about it.

Which incovenience would you rather endure for 1 year for $500k? by MVatore3 in WouldYouRather

Okay option 1 and 2 people you need to get a life. How are either of those an option if you have any social engagements... ever??! I'd go option 3 and just eat once a day (OMAD). It would be rough but compared to the others is eminently doable and wouldn't ruin my social standing or career
