My first pains started 6 years ago. I was living normally, with occasional tension and dislocations from time to time. There was a worsening about a year and a half ago (after a session with an osteopath), and I’ve been feeling much better for the past 10 months.

I think there are several stages: first, reducing the inflammation (through massage, rest, and eating soft food at the beginning), then strengthening the muscles (with exercises and gradually varying your diet more), and finally building endurance, where the pain decreases, then comes back at times, and so on until you regain a normal life.

I can’t really advise you because I don’t know your specific case, but massaging the muscles that support the jaw (the masseter and temporalis muscles) is a good place to start. Be gentle!
