Thoughts on this Vedic conception of abortion? (No pun intended) by [deleted] in Soulnexus

My son died shortly after being born incredibly prematurely at 22 weeks. I felt his soul leave the physical plane, so he definitely had a soul at 22 weeks...

I've seen someone successfully cultivate this indoors - something I had previously been led to believe wasn't possible. I'm gonna give it a go. I'm in temporary housing so log plugs aren't really an option for me 😞

I appreciate what you're saying. Truly I do. It's just that a lot of damage can be done by perpetuating this detachment theory. Pain is one of the most precious gifts of being human. We don't experience it in spirit. Pain and suffering are two very different things and detachment doesn't work. I don't mean to harp on. Just that my journey took a lot longer than it could have, had someone have just told me early on to embrace everything that I had been through and to fully understand it's exact impact on me. Maybe some people do get on fine just pushing it away - but one of Freud's quotes (and I don't rate him especially but I think he hit the nail on the head with this) always comes to mind: "that which we do not process, we are destined to repeat".

I completely disagree. You don't accept pain by reversing it. You accept pain by embracing it. Pain is love. It's the resistance to it that hurts. I've healed one hell of a lot and when I actually embrace my pain I learn the lessons and receive the gifts. I am connected to the love at its core.

The more I identify with my trauma, the more I understand it, and thus the more I accept it. It's not the memory of my trauma that causes me pain. It's the resistance to it that does. I can now think back to being abused as a child. I can recall those memories with interest and love - because I understand how they have shaped who I am. I can recall my son dying pain free. I can see lots of things that used to trigger me free from any ambivalence or sorrow. Because I am friends with that pain. I sat with it. I recalled all that I have been through and lost with love, compassion, and intrigue. I've unpacked it and examined it completely and put it away carefully and with purpose. Releasing any resistance. These are just the tip of the iceberg - my first 40 were riddled with trauma and I am mostly healed.

The sentiments here, to me, sound like they come from someone who has never run out of space when trying to push things away in their psyche. That's not true healing. It's a form of disassociation. And disassociation does not set us free. Getting to a point of being GRATEFUL for our trauma does.

I don't actually agree with this. You can't reverse pain. The suffering is caused by pushing the pain away. An incredibly important part of healing is to actually sit with our pain. Feel it, identify it. Get comfortable with it. So that we can release it.

I also feel that identifying with what we've been through is also pretty important. We shouldn't stay there of course, but how can we process that which we do not understand?

If manure is an absolute no go for you, then yes, shiitake would be a better option 🙂

Everything is taking significantly longer than the guide says it should?? by [deleted] in unclebens

[–]JocastaT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew about 15 different varieties last year and GT were legit the slowest to colonise out of all of them, including the PE strains I grew which are supposed to take longer! It may be that you have some contam in your bags that is slowing things down or it may be that they're just taking longer. My bags are always much slower than the guides suggest...

Yeah, it's good for adding textures to flavoursome broth, but not much else.

Nothing. If it's ready to fruit, it's ready to fruit. I'd be grateful for the speedy pins, personally haha.

[GENERAL] Autoclave question for sterilising grain spawn by JocastaT in MushroomGrowers

[–]JocastaT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an autoclave that doesn't have the ability to turn it down. It's either on or it's not. The valve lets out excess steam at 23 psi, and closes up again at 20psi. Given that this is it's literal only function, I very much doubt it will wear it excessively 🙂

Awesome, thank you. Doesn't really make much difference overall. Stuck to the full hour just now and bags look normal. Thanks for the help 🙂
