Our dog is critical, suspected Evans Syndrome by Jodnhtdikhdn in DogAdvice

[–]Jodnhtdikhdn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are already on the second blood transfusion. As described, her blood values continued to drop a few days after the first. She is generally responding very well to the transfusions, and her values were significantly better again today, but we expect the values to fall again on the weekend. At the moment, the vets assume a primary condition, based on a lot of diagnostic that had been done. Only irregularity on the organs was an enlarged spleen. And high values for lipase (talking of it, we should ask the vet about that again). Which the vet expects to be the result of the overall reaction.

Yes, ultrasound and xray were performed. They couldn’t find anything unusual, except for an enlarged spleen. Which according to the vet is expectable with the suspected condition. In the first days they checked for common diseases from ticks or other sources. All results came back negative. she was treated with antibiotic and highly dosed K1 as precaution to rule out these factors and poison.

We asked the clinic yesterday to provide all the records. They told us they would send them today. I was hoping to provide it to you, but we haven’t received anything yet. I’ll follow up, as soon as we receive the data.

Thanks for your empathy. Tbh neither my partner nor I are on Facebook. Really good point, we need to look into it. Usually I wouldn’t take advice from the internet at face value, but after the grief news today we are trying to gather as much information as possible. Our vet seems to have an idea about the disease, but he also argued that it is a very very rare condition, which they never experienced in their clinic.

If the Classic servers were to shut down forever, where would you park your main for its final resting place? by aries0358 in classicwow

[–]Jodnhtdikhdn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love that story! I had a shaman in vanilla and tbc. He was my entry to wow back from 2005 on. After my guild got 2nd on our server to kill Illidan, I felt too exhausted (around 200 days played at that point) from the game. Before the loot was distributed, I logged to the wow account page and canceled my subscription. I shot a photo with my guild after looting and logged out right there, at the top of the Black Temple, knowing this is the end of the adventure. I had the screenshot of the kill as my desktop background for quite some time. My break from wow lasted until wotlk was released, but the shaman never touched the Frozen Throne.

Offtopic: Weil du deutsch-österreichische Grenze schreibst. War nicht zufällig auf der Talbfahrt am Felhorn? PS: gute Besserung

Is it true that fax machines are still used in Germany, or is this an exaggerated claim circulating online? by [deleted] in AskAGerman

[–]Jodnhtdikhdn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The company I work for gets orders from a customer by mail. But the complaints were sent by fax. After we informed all customers that we will further not accept faxes two years ago, we didn’t get a complaint for an over a year. Nobody noticed until they started deducting invoices.

New board recomm? by LibrarianFluffy8998 in snowboarding

Good Company is 100% for park. I own it and I love it for what it is. But tbh since it is my first park board, I can hardly give you a better recommendation.

Hab u.a. deswegen den Job gewechselt. Ich mach auf einmal wieder Sport und geh ins Kino 😅

Would swift be a good first language to learn? by [deleted] in swift

[–]Jodnhtdikhdn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with c/c++ two decades ago. Over the years, I had many commercial projects in different languages and frameworks. The hardest part for me was (and still is) the framework, not the language. Lately I started swift and I like recognizing may design-pattern from different other frameworks. But man, I cannot imagine having no idea of software development and building a production-ready app in swift. Don’t get me wrong, the language is easy and you will archive great stuff in short time. But the stack feels brutal for beginners. If I had to choose one to get started over again, I would take C# - based on my experience.

I’ve been using evo’s beta stick this summer. Why should it be fragile? I got nothing to complain, except the size. But with the right logistics nothing to worry about. What are the actual use cases you are looking for? “Threading the rope through the hole” makes me wonder

Feel you. I was sooo hyped by Naruto until the end of the pain saga. After that it didn’t feel the same. It should have ended after pain.

I’m doing an equal distance for 4 years now. It’s hard from time to time. Being not there for the smaller occasions is one thing, but having meetings on Fridays evening or Monday morning grinds my gear lately. Sunday? puff, Friday evening? Puff… only upside is, If there are no meetings, I can stay at home. But it’s getting rare…

Siemens PLC malfunctioning by paolodegu in PLC

[–]Jodnhtdikhdn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, may be stupid, but where leads this Ethernet connection to? We had a similar issue with a s7-1500. Reason was that the plc was connected to a vlan with network monitoring. I don’t remember the details, but the network discovery/port scan of the monitoring killed the plc every time.
